I haven't watched it and probably won't as I cringe so hard when I see myself on screen, like once I finished editing a video I cant re watch it or I just shrivel up. I think I'm only in it very briefly which is good with me, it was a fun experience though being interviewed last year. I'll tell you guys about it on the next livestream which I hope to do soon.
EDIT: It's called Crime Scene Vanishing at the Hotel Cecil (not sure if it's any good lol)
Anyways, so as I said only the one new one this week as I'm getting back on track, but back to two videos as per usual next week! Here's the two videos which are on patreon at the moment which haven't gone public yet in case you haven't given them a goo. Cheers! :)

But knowing Mike was going to make an appearance, well, had to watch it then. And I was really pleasantly surprised at how it was put together, the assortment of people they interviewed, and the way the story unfolded across the episodes - layering fact with mystery and conspiracy, to finally unpick the very tragic but ultimately innocent disappearance and death of Elisa Lam. I particularly liked the use of Elisa's own words from her tumblr posts to underscore the whole thing, and make sure that who she was as a person was a key piece of the story and not the forgotten part behind all the chaos of her death. A really excellent piece of documentary film making all up, in my opinion. Of course there wasn't anywhere near enough Mike, but when is there :P

Also, as he is talking, they show a shot of youtube listings on the case, and they do pause where That Chapter's youtube is posted. If you watch the credits of the 4th episode, they list all the videos alphabetically. That Chapter is the last and right before the end of the credits.

2021-02-14 20:29:08 +0000 UTCAt first was like "ugh, Elisa Lam again..." but it was interesting. It's produced by Ron Howard and his partner and they generally put out good shite. They interview the hotel manager, the employee that found her in the tank, a previous resident of the hotel, the detectives that investigated her case and the coroner who actually autopsied her body, a handful of YouTubers and some guests who were staying in the hotel while she was "missing" and still in the tank. So you are getting *the* scoop from the primary players. Even if you know the Elisa Lam case like the back of your hand, I still recommend giving it a go. It's only 4 episodes.

Someone suicidal choosing drowning over instant death by jumping is not a common thing. Suicidal people almost always choose what they believe to be the quickest route. Though bipolar has it's greier areas what was happening in that elevator was not bipolar. Something else was happening to her. Too much of the video was edited and "slowed" down and the LAPD to this day has never released the full video. What was released to the public had 53 seconds missing from it. Why? It makes no sense at all. Plus the police say they checked the roof. There is NO way the dogs wouldn't have hit on Elisa's scent. Hell, the dogs hit on a window she touched on the top floor. Why those tanks were never looked into as part of the search is another red flag for me. Too many unanswered questions combined with limited police information definitely leads me to believe she was murdered. Staff involvement, police involvement even, who know? Though I know they never will find peace I sincerely hope they family can put somethings to rest.

I also think her "acting weird" was her avoiding someone, and just trying to get the damn elevator doors to close. I hate how her being bipolar meant that a lot of people just assumed she killed herself. Like there are easier ways of doing that then climbing into a water tank on a hotel roof. But most of all I feel so horribly sad for her family, who just started trusting her enough to take a trip on her own and this happens. As an aside, the first episode makes this big deal about naive tourists having no concept or understanding of LA's skid row. I was like "bitch this girl is from Vancouver, she understands". We have an enormous skid row with all the same problems of untreated mental illness, drug addiction, homelessness, poverty, and violence in our lower east side. It's a BIG DEAL here. I'm sure she was not as naive to it as one would assume.

If you're curious but can't stand to watch yourself – – they show a handful (3 to 4) of clips of yours when they do little montage sequences of online reactions to the case, each one only a couple seconds long.

Personally, I think she ran into the wrong staff perosnal. The reason I say that is because of the time stamp from the elevator footage and that the elevator itself was acting up and immediately returned to normal after she was out of it's view
