Don't know why this was reupped on Patreon, but I am SO EXCITED!!! I didn't know Mike covered this case. I have watched EWU's interrogation video prob 50 times b/c I dislike that POS so much. Can't wait to watch.

I just watched a documentary series about him and THAT is one messed up case.. While watching it, it kept thinking, I’d love to hear Mikes commentary on this guy and all the messed up shite he was into and the shite he did. As well as the ways in which authorities all but let this guys get away with murder. It’s absolutely insane.

When he was a Buffalo Bill, he came very close to killing his first wife, strangled her almost to death, but the police, hospital, ambulance crew, team, and family all covered it up. As a star athlete and a narcissist, he could do whatever he wanted and others would clean up behind him.

It didn't happen far from home and I remember it was surprising to a lot of people when he was (rightly) acquitted only a few years later. It's incredible that they finally found the real killer after all these years. It's too bad he's not alive to face trial, but considering he died by his own hand... I like to think that was from Jessop haunting his ass for the rest of his life.

If the sweetness of her face doesn't permanently imprint itself on memory, the freaking awful, tragic, the preposterously inept police handling of the case, and the ruthlessness of an overly-ambitious prosecution will. From time to time, I've thought of the case, and felt real sorrow that her murder would never be solved. I wish I could recall wtf it was that reminded me of her just a few weeks ago, because seeing the headlines about it being solved on the weekend was just. God. Damn. Goddamn goddamn. She should have known to lawyer up but figured she could hoodwink other cops like she had done when the murder first happened. This slimeball in this story might have just been too stupid and thought he could lie his way out. He obviously didn’t understand enough about DNA. Look at Chris Watts. That’s narcissism. Scott Peterson was narcissism. OJ was narcissism (and that worked once). So many of these pieces of crap are so arrogant they think they can outsmart the system. I just don’t know if that’s the case here.

Their channel does amazing work taking apart what law enforcement is doing and what the suspects may be thinking during these interrogations. The three videos done on Chris Watts were amazing. It’s a great channel to add to your subscription roster. Not as good as Mike’s channel, but a decent one nevertheless.

2020-10-22 22:07:55 +0000 UTCI’ve always wondered why they don’t immediately ask for a lawyer as well. Maybe they’re afraid of “looking guilty” if they lawyer up. Another interrogation technique that’s often used is acting like they genuinely care about the suspect. Pretending to be empathetic and saying they know the suspect just wants to get the crime off their chest. They try to act like therapists until the suspect lets their guard down and starts confessing.

2020-10-22 21:09:56 +0000 UTCI’ve been watching a lot of interrogation videos recently. The one “trick” that detectives use is the Alternate Question. It gives the suspect a way to admit to a lesser crime in order to explain what happened. This case it was brittle bone disease. With Chris Watts it was making him think the detectives believed it was Shannan’s fault and she caused him to snap. What gets me is that these people fall for this all of the time. Even good old Stephanie Lazarus allowed herself to be chauffeured around the questions until she had screwed herself completely. Why in the world do so many people do this? They all know they could shut up and ask for a lawyer. They know they don’t have to answer any of these questions. Why wouldn’t you just request counsel immediately? Thank goodness that most criminals are not all that bright. Too stupid to be a decent human being and too ignorant to get away with it.
