COLLAB REWATCH: SUPERNATURAL - The Monster at the End of the Book!

Hello All,

I thought I would repost this old gem of a video of myself and Shan from Aftershowreacts doing a rewatch of The Monster at the End of the Book... I had a lot of fun doing this and would enjoy more collabs in the future if possible. Supernatural will always have a special place in my heart and hearing rumours of a possible return gets me excited! I hope you enjoy this video & thanks for being so understanding about my current time off due to sickness.

Much love to all of you

COLLAB REWATCH: SUPERNATURAL - The Monster at the End of the Book!

I loved this duo reaction! And I loved the discussion you two had afterwards. It was really nice seeing two of my favorite reactors discussing my favorite show. And I totally agreed with all of your critiques of the show. I've thought the same things. I think it's possible to criticize a show, and still love the show at the same time. It's okay. We critique it because we love it and know it can do better. I think it's clear that things were done differently after Kripke left the show. The follow throughs were not always satisfying, like they were when Kripke was at the helm. Lots of dicussion could be had about why that is, but I'm trying to to do a ridiculously long comment this time. lol My head canon about Chuck during season 4 is that he knew full well what was going on and he was acting. Even when he was alone. He had to, because the angels were watching. He was presenting himself as a prophet, so they'd have their eyes on him at all times. So he had to act even for them. He likely thought it was all fun. Kripke and Bob have talked about when it was that Chuck being God was a Thing. Kripke had plans since almost the beginning. Bob was told around the time of the season 5 finale. It's unclear to me, though, if Eric planned on it from the very start, or if he decided sometime between seasons 4 and 5.

I don't think Chuck has amnesia. Who or what could cause God to have amnesia. I think y'all were right when you said they just didn't know they were going to make him God yet. They didn't even hint at Chuck being God until the end of season 5. Supernatural is full of contradictions and plot holes from season to season. I often wondered as the show runner's changes, if they watched all the previous episodes, because I've caught a lot of things that didn't work with what happened in previous seasons. I'm sure I'm not the only one to watch these as they came out and catch things along the way. For example Crowley and Cas spent all season trying to get into purgatory, but then in a later season Sam and Dean just caught a cab with a reaper. I really enjoyed watching both of y'all discuss the episode, it was very cool, and a nice change of pace. I appreciate it. How you're starting to feel better.

The Mad Titan

Loved it! I kinda merged the two backgrounds together in my head and it felt like two friends/roommates at college watching it together in their dorm room. More collab rewatches hopefully in future. Almost forgot, when the doorbell rang early on in the episode, I started to get up to answer the door. Not a smart thing to do at 11:30 pm unless you ordered a pizza. Thanks Dak and Shan!

Thanks! I sub to both of you, yet somehow missed this when you originally posted it. Really looking forward to watching it!
