Grimm Reaction 4x20

Comments

Finally finishing these reactions. I like how after she drank the potion Adalind says, "Well I...I guess I'm good." I didn't pick up on the double meaning the first time I saw it, but it's cool that you did, with you immediately asking if her personality was going to change.

Every time this ending leaves me dead loved your reaction and there’s still so much to go

For me I think the difference between Adalind and Juliette, aside from Adalind having been born a hexenbiest, is that Adalind acts like a survivor, and Juliette acts like a victim. Adalind grows up with a pretty crappy mother, is essentially told the only thing worthwhile about her is her hexenbiest powers, ends up being betrayed by both her mother and Renard, loses her powers, and then has her child taken from her. So what does Adalind do? Gets her powers back, sides with anyone she thinks can protect her child, then sides with whoever she thinks can find her child, justifies taking some revenge along the way, offers assistance to the people she hopes can protect her when she needs, and swears to raise her kids the right way. And then you have Juliette, who gets put into a coma, suffers memory loss, eventually finds about the Wesen world, has the possibility of a normal life without Nick as a Grimm dangled in front of her, agrees to help Nick get his powers back to help their best friends, and ends up being turned into a hexenbiest. So how does Juliette respond? She blames Nick for basically being sexually assaulted, blames Nick for being a Grimm and them not being able to have a normal life, throws a series of hissy fits and demands someone fix her, doesn't confide in Nick, then walks out on Nick, goes and sleeps with Renard, starts using her hexenbiest powers to act out, sides with the enemy, and then blames everyone else for her actions, before assaulting, and attempting to kill the people she considered her close friends at one point. At this point you can say Adalind is a bitch, but at least she's a justified bitch. Juliette is just a spoilt brat.

To echo DM DC, this one was so intense! I didn't care at all about the Jack the Ripper storyline, which is kind of a shame because we not only lost those two pretty Wesen women, but also Henrietta! This was all about Juliette and man, did it pay off big time. She is relishing in her new Hexenbiest life and associating with the wrong team. I like to think that this is not who Juliette really is deep down, but as we continue the journey, she's become violent and ruthless towards our people and shows a f*** around and find out attitude towards strangers. But when you mess with Monroe and Rosalee (I really wanted to borrow Khensi's "MonRosalee"), that's it, you're done. They are my two favorite characters and I absolutely adore them together; they should have been given a spin-off series. But that was a bastard of a cliffhanger. How dare you. The only way it could have been worse is if that was the season finale and we would have spent months waiting to see what happened. Phew! Thanks Dak, another great time spent with you and I appreciate you every day.

Truly an intense episode. For me, it was when Juliette burned the trailor that I felt she was lost. This episode just hammers it in though. But things like this brings to question: Is this who Juliette was deep down? I mean Adalind went from being villian to sort of an ally, granted she's trying to keep herself alive but ever since she had Diana she's done a few things but mainly to get her daughter back. She's been slowly becoming more of a desent enough person I guess. Where Juliette has become increadibly vindictive, and cruel. I appreciate the sentiment, I was one of those that had to wait before I could see the next episode. I still remember watching the first episode of Season 1 when it first aired-I was immediately addicted to this show. But having to wait for the next episode of this season was so brutal. I spent days imagining the worst, and wondering how this played out.

DM DC

It was at this point that I no longer had any sympathy for Juliette. Burning the trailer, cheating on Nick with the Captain and trying to kill Adalind I could try to justify, but mess with MonRosalee; absolutely not. The writers knew that this would definitely be the line for most fans and they were right. I can't wait to see you react to 4x21, it only gets worse. And I wonder what's wrong with the Captain 🤔. Have a good week. xx
