Hello All!

demonic looking Willow gives me the wiggins!! I know she's crazy powerful but moments like this one when she's raging protecting Tara definitely reminds me of that power & makes me nervy at the same time! Glory is getting super close to getting Dawn & i'm sweating!! This ep was fantastic!

Hope you enjoy the reaction folks. Have a lovely week everyone! Thank you for the constant love & support!

Much love

Dakara x

Can we all just APPLAUD Willow for not only standing up to a GOD…but looking her dead in the eye and SPAT in her face. “People use to bow down to Gods, things change”

Another episode where I was eagerly awaiting your reaction. A slow burner with some intense scenes. Dawnie's self-hatred and shame is so heartbreaking, and Buffy's feelings and attitude towards her new responsibilities is very relatable. I hate when Willow and Tara's relationship gets torn asunder, but it produced some amazing moments. It hurt when Tara got attacked, but I loved Wil seeing red and becoming Dark Willow. One of my favorite episodes, honestly. Don't be sad and tear up Dak, chin up platelet.

that was exhausting. I need a good cup of tea and/or a nap after that episode.

Aahhh and thus the finale of the season has kicked off. The way the relationships, insecurities, worries and everything were played of was well done. Tara holding firm and Willow being just to late. An emotional Willow gets everyone all the time i think. As ppl said above me, the way they did willow's invocation was great, and a good glimpse of how powerfull Willow actually is. Then it. alot of these bits of character development were seeded way before and have been building for a while. Then it ends like that with Glory finding out about Dawn, after ripping of half of the freaking house. I'm glad you like this season, its such a good one. I think its in the top for most fans of buffy.

Also Hera is the wife of Zeus and matriarch of the Greek pantheon. Invoking her is like saying 'don't you dare mess with my family'.

Seriously, I think the spell that was written for the Willow vs Glory scene is one of the best in the entire series. It really feels like they did their homework on this one. The deities/beings that Willow calls upon are Kali, Hera, Cronus, Tonic (I believe they may mean Cthonic here), and Cassiel. Kali in her earliest form is regarded as the ultimate manifestation of the primordial life force, and a goddess who defeats evil and protects the innocent; in later stories she is portrayed as being born out the fury of the goddess Durga, and represents the personification of Durga's wrath and embodied fury. Hera, in many of the myths around her is depicted as a jealous and vengeful goddess who has no problem smiting those who offend her or attempt to usurp or interfere in her relationships. Cronus likely refers to the Titan Cronus, who castrated his own father with a sickle, thus also making him a personification of death in some later interpretations. Cthonic refers to the Greek underworld and all of its deities and powers. And Cassiel is sometimes referred to as the 'Angel of tears', also an Angel of death in some traditions, and is said to carry a sword named 'ruin'. Yeah, Willow is not mucking around with this spell, and every entity she evokes is like high level vengeance, fury and death. :D

Willow went beast this episode and I loved every minute of it. Remember restless the season 4 finale look into willows dreams. She has self-esteem issues and she is comparing her sense of self to Tara in their fight because Tara has built an identity and she is trying to catch up to that because she hated her old one. The non witch weak shy straight willow. (Not to say that she hated being straight just that she is not that anymore.) To the point were she is surpassing tara So when Tara seems to be afraid of the new her and even suggests that it is temporary (her costume just for the play in restless) willow lashes out in anger as projection from that self hatred.

Season 1 was only half as long so the Master didn't get as much time to stamp his presence on the viewers. Season 2 changed villains halfway through. Season 3 was as much about them growing up as it was about the Mayor, and Faith took a huge part of the villain ball in that season. Season 4 changed from Walsh to the relatively silly Adam. So Glory feeling like a bigger bad tracks. She owns the season in the villain sense. I've seen this episode a dozen times in the last 14 years and yet this is the first time I got that the minion talked because Giles did something painful to him offscreen. For a long time I just assumed that they needed him to talk and so they had him be scared of being tied up and that that was the joke. Shows me the value of an umpteenth rewatch. It fits Giles's character too, like what he did to Ethan Rayne.
