Just think about how lucky you are to not have a baculum during this time of pestilence

OH MY GOSH YES SHE DID!! I am a certified therapist in EMDR and I WAS CRINGING listening to that!! Also yes, lots of unethical shit to unpack from both of those therapists. Jesus H.

Lindsey McCormick

Shouldn't it be uncommon for a therapist to offer a free session as some kind of consolation prize? I mean, there was a lot to unpack in that story.

Tom! This is in response to the Island Time episode, that’s EDMR therapy and she did it completely wrong and it’s DEFINITELY NOT art therapy what an irresponsible therapist

Living here in southeastern ohio I have a relative who collects coon bacculums and uses them as toothpicks

Wow, just finished this episode. Equal parts hilarious, insightful, and ridiculous. This is one of the all-timers for me, thank you.

Grew up over on Pine Forest, then was living in Hillbrook the past year. Moving to Glendale this week though.

I lived in Spartanburg for a decade! Where you from? I was in Whitney and Drayton

I lived in Spartanburg for a decade! Do you remember the name of those folks? I wanna ask my friend

Leave Tanya alone and let her live!

SPARTANBURG!! We’re a dark horse, baby. If y’all ever remember which church it was you gotta let me know. Also, I appreciate Tom talking about how serpents are “maligned.” On top of being a preacher, my dad’s also an amateur herpetologist who teaches the locals about the ecological benefits of snakes, so this episode was after my heart.

Check out Engels' eulogy of Marx. It's pretty short https://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1883/death/burial.htm In it he makes a good point about the significance of Marx and his work when he says in part "Just as Darwin discovered the law of development or organic nature, so Marx discovered the law of development of human history: the simple fact, hitherto concealed by an overgrowth of ideology, that mankind must first of all eat, drink, have shelter and clothing, before it can pursue politics, science, art, religion, etc." I think to think of him as a Darwin figure is a useful way of framing it and the fact that Darwin's field of study we now call evolutionary biology yet Marx's field of study is still called Marxism is itself political because it makes it seem like its just one man's opinion vs everyone else.
