Especially as he was the one man with the most respect who revealed that Stannis is Robert's heir. He may not like Ned. And he may have been jealous of him, but Stannis at least owes him to see his betrayer hung, or decapitated. And if there's anything Stannis knows, it's duty to see that a man is given what he is owed.
