I know I'm late to this party, but for me I'd absolutely choose year one winter. I deal with chronic illnesses and the heat is awful for them and just leave me feeling drained. I have pale skin that burns in the sun & soooo many bugs. No, I'm an indoor girl so winter sounds snug. Plus I don't mind driving in the dark. Even though I'm a summer/Cancer baby, I'm all for winter (& autumn/spring) over summer - I prefer to be cold than hot. With your question as to why Amenadiel can't slow time, it's more he doesn't want to. He spoke to Linda about it maybe a season or two ago & also with Remi in S4. How it kept him distant from humanity and in the beginning he was OK with that as he looked down on them, but as he's learnt from them & is more open to mingling with humans, he doesn't want to be distant anymore. So self-actualising his desire to be better connected to humanity by not being able to slow time. At least, that was my understanding, lol.
