I basically agree with everything Toasted said above. This episode altered so much from the original. From the friends reactions to he and Elliot hooking back up, to Lucas and Chloe’s talk. None of it happened the same way as the original did it. There was quite a negative reaction to the way Yann reacted when this aired. A lot of people got upset at him feeling that he owed Lucas telling him when Lucas should have been able to tell people when he was ready. While I 100% agree that Lucas should only tell when he was ready, I totally understand Yann’s reaction. He thought Lucas would come to him first with everything as he does with Lucas and finding out that wasn’t the case made him feel a bit rejected. It’s not necessarily a good reaction but it’s a completely understandable one. I loved the scene with the roommates at the beginning too. It was so emotional and powerful to me. I’m so happy you stuck with this season are enjoying it so much! ❤️

I was just hoping that it wouldn't override enjoyment of it, because it was so well done, and I was glad because the beauty of it still did seem to move you (plus - ahem - hotness). And Yann's reaction in this version is totally different from the original, tipping Lucas even further over the edge and leading to that beautiful scene with his flatmates and the 'make-up' scene with Yann. If I wasn't won over to Lucas before (which I was anyway), that would have swung it for me. Always makes me cry! And the reactions of his other friends, over-compensating at first to show how fine they are. Seems weird, but again, I think very realistic as part of the range of reactions you might get. They want to be supportive but don't know exactly how to be, and are very clumsy at first. And then they normalise. ETA (sorry I'm going on a bit!) I always think what are they going to do with that wall (before Eliot and Lucas smush everything!)? How can you possibly do anything without painting it over in white / some generic background colour first? Otherwise anything you do is going to look awful! (and I rather like the mural anyway). I think this episode is most different from the original, both in the different/additional scenes and the tweaks. Even the conversation between Lucas and Chloe is more mature. She admits that she didn't out him by accident but was trying to get some revenge by outing him to everyone, which is some really poor behaviour.
