"We wants Inside them 🧠s!" - Darth SkullFuck

+1 for this. I don't need pages upon pages of exquisite detail, nor to spend chapter after chapter bogged down in internal musings. But important things - the settings of major battles and scenes, the thought processes of characters during core pivot points and fight scenes - makes a difference.

I prefer the prose, as it adds depth and character. However, I know many people don't like pages of extraneous descriptive text - they want the story to get on with it. I vote that a middle ground be the way to go: good grammar, with some prose for texture and fleshing out the characters; but don't spend all your time trying to describe every stone in the forest. Simple is better than slowing down your story too much, or burning out trying to make everything pretty. Personally, as long as you have better grammar than light novels, you should be satisfying almost everyone (not that they're bad, but man does it get hard to parse 1000 pages of broken English translation sometimes! [Hobby Translators are superhumans to be able to even approach proper English with the crazy differences from other languages!!])
