Hello hello,
it's time for this month's LR-Preset! :D
Since coming to Japan I've been increasingly doing some street photography. As you might know, this is not my usual genre of photography, because I simply find other genres to be more enjoyable for me personally.
However in the last couple of weeks I've found myself shooting not only the streets but also the people of Tokyo more than I normally would. I suppose I'm just feeling incredibly inspired by the environment.
With this recent development I've also been inspired to create this month's LR-Preset, which is a bit of a classic, but with my own spin on it. I say a classic, because as the "OT" in the name suggests, it's an orange & teal look. This look is extremely popular because the colour contrast has such a pleasing visual effect. While it has been done so much I decided to try making a version of my own and came up with this look, which I'm quite happy with. While it is an orange and teal look, I find it to be less extreme than many O&T looks tend to be and of course... me being me... I added a touch of green to all of it.
In the two images above are a couple examples to show you what the preset is capable of. As you can see I think it's better suited for night photography. I've optimised the contrast for those situations, however as presented on the first slide, it can also work quite well with day-time shots.
As always, this is not a one-click solution, but almost. I recommend applying the preset and then tweaking White Balance, Tint and Exposure. In the preview images I have added all these settings, so that you can see how these three parameters are set to get the look.
I hope you enjoy using this preset, have fun with it! :)
