nothing special just a pic to grab the attention!
the next videos from the upper shop will be forging a norse auger its like a drill. im going to need it to make holes for the bridge and and the structure for tree nails and such, pegs.
that video was already done but i literally just had a small change to make since i was reading an archeological find and it will make the bow drill 10x more effective. so that should be out hopefully friday or monday. i dont like posting videos on the weekend for some reason mine always bomb if drop them on the weekend which doesnt make a lot sense as everyone is home, but esp in the warmer months people arent spending their time in doors watching my lame ass when its nice weather. i cant blame them i dont either.
the other video which im working on today, currently taking a break from, is a bloom steel socketed chisel. this wont mean much to a lay people but making a socketed item from period steel is fucking hard. period steel does not have the ductility of modern steel. it wants to split and crack when curved too much. ive not started it yet just got it all forged out and came inside for some lunch but well see what we can do here in a bit ill keep you all posted.
basically the upcoming videos are going to be foging a norse age tool chest. ill be making a hammer, a stump anvil, tongs, planking axe, small hatchet, a scythe of sorts, a carving knife, a period correct fire steel, and a leather sewing kit (there wont be much forging in that one but it will still be cool making an antler needle and awl
