I carved these on the summer solstice and then sanded them recently. Bog oak from 10,000 bc and antler carved in an equal and opposite fashion. The sun, the mountains, the stars, and the trees.. Forgot to post pics.
They were carved at the height of summer and light. It was a breeze warm day and my wife and kiddo played in the grass. I didnt want that day to end. The next day l could hear something just on the edge of thought. A slight whisper of a whisper. I turned north and felt a single goose bump raise. The jotens banged once on their drum and the March to winter has begun; Summer has been defeated. Every day now is a losing battle that the light fights to win. More and more ground lost. Now is the time to fortify our stores. Make our plans and even in these times plan to have a great Thanksgiving. Soon we will have to make our own light.
