I never go to movies, but if there wasn't half the planet in between us, I think you would be a good movie viewing companion. Go in, shut off the world, enjoy, or not, the film, and maybe grab a bit of a bite or a coffee after and talk about what you watched, and then back to the real world.
Edit: also because you asked for recomendations, everything Studio Ghibli has ever put out, like ever (except grave of the fireflies, unless you like crying and hurting)

The movies within the Marvel Cinematic Universe have always premiered on or close to my birthday. It's been a family tradition to go to the movies for my birthday present for the past ten years or so.

Battle angle Alita was the best positive surprise for me, stunning work, amazing main character, so entertaining, through the whole movie. And rumors say they may come two more movies, really worth seeing it. The Brie Larsson thing😖 have seen so many interviews with her, she might be a big feminist, but she really says many controversial things too often. An amazing oldie: can't buy me love, seen it countless times, cry every time

If money was not a requirement to life, then i would challenge myself to watch every film. So many sweets needed.

One of our all time favourite movies is "Begin Again" with Kiera Knightly and Mark Ruffalo. Another similar one is "Once". It's a low budget movie, but a good watch. Finally another family favourite is "Not Another Happy Ending" with Karen Gillan (who played Amy in Dr Who or Nebula in the Marvel movies).

I often go alone to the cinemas, all others have children and don't have the time. I don't mind, then I can laugh, cry and enjoy without any disturbance, endgame and battle angle Alita has been two movies I really liked
