I think the book doesn't accomplish what Kukafka thinks it does in her essay, but it's an interesting story with beautiful writing. 4/5 for me.

2023-11-04 03:41:04 +0000 UTCI only just finished this and I’m now watching your video! The thing that struck me about Ansel’s parts is it reminded me a bit of Humbert Humbert from Lolita. I wonder if that was an inspiration on Kukafka’s part. I also like you found this incredibly readable, and agree that the characters felt very real. I don’t know if I loved Ansel’s final chapter or felt it was really necessary. A super interesting pick, Shawn!!
