Nana was relentless now, feeding off the rush of dominance coursing through her veins. Mirko was reeling, barely holding herself together, her stance weakening with each second, but Nana wasn’t done—not by a long shot. She pivoted on her heel, muscles coiling, and swung again. A vicious left hook slammed into Mirko’s jaw with a sickening crack, her head snapping violently to the side. Her mouthguard nearly shot from her lips, barely staying in as a spray of spit, sweat, and saliva burst into the air in an almost humiliating display. Her body jerked awkwardly, legs buckling, her equilibrium all but shattered as she staggered, arms flailing to keep herself from crumpling to the mat. Her mind was spinning, white-hot pain flashing through her skull, her senses screaming at her to shut down, but she refused. She would not go down. Her body was betraying her, her legs trembling, barely able to support her, but she fought, doing anything to stay upright, gritting her teeth, shifting her weight, anything to keep herself from collapsing in utter defeat. The crowd felt it, that desperate struggle, that last, shattering moment before the body could no longer obey the will. Mirko was on the brink.
