29. Ageha returns to the Afterlife.

│3rd Person POV│

[Human World, Japan...]

At this moment, Serafall finally couldn’t help but ask the question that had been bubbling inside her from the moment she entered the room and saw Ageha in her spirit form, “Melio-tan, who is this beautiful old lady? And how is she here in this form?”

Ageha Ikuse was undeniably beautiful, even in her later years.

Her features bore a striking resemblance to the other women of the Himejima Clan, such as Suzaku Himejima, Shuri Himejima, and Akeno Himejima.

Meliodas couldn’t help but muse to himself with a hint of humor, ‘It seems the only admirable contribution the Himejima Clan makes to the world is producing such stunning and exceptional women.’

With a smooth gesture, he proceeded with the introductions. “Sera-chan, meet Ageha Ikuse and her grandson, Tobio Ikuse,” he said. Then, turning to the grandmother-grandson duo, he added, “Ageha-san, Tobio, this is Serafall Leviathan, the current Satan Leviathan.

“She’s also the star of the magical girl show Miracle☆Levia-tan,” he concluded with a grin.

As expected, Ageha and Tobio were beyond shocked upon hearing that the young woman in front of them was none other than the Satan Leviathan.

There’s not much to say about why Ageha was shocked.

Tobio, on the other hand, was different. Even though he didn’t have any knowledge about the Supernatural World, he recognized that the title of ‘Satan’ could only belong to the strongest of Devils.

Tobio was utterly stunned and downright terrified, his thoughts racing frantically. ‘Why on earth is an actual Satan standing in my house? And what are the chances that the guy I summoned just so happens to have a connection with someone like her?!’

If Meliodas bothered himself to peer into Tobio’s thoughts, he would undoubtedly chuckle and confidently claim there was a 100% chance Tobio would summon him.

After all, it was Meliodas himself who had instructed Aurora to place his Summoning Circle near Tobio’s apartment. The Flyer wasn’t entirely clean either—it carried a subtle Hypnosis Spell.

Once Tobio picked it up, the spell amplified his grief for his deceased grandmother and deepened his desire to see her again, making the idea of using the Summoning Circle irresistible.

“As for why Ageha-san is here in this form,” Meliodas began with a smile, “Tobio wished to speak with his grandmother, who passed away four years ago. He found one of my Summoning Flyers and used it to call me. Since it was my first contract in a while, I decided to grant his wish.

“Plus, I had just finished figuring out how Valerie’s Sacred Gear works, which made summoning Ageha-san’s soul from the afterlife a relatively simple task.” Meliodas concluded his explanation with a proud smile.

Serafall understood why Meliodas refrained from using the name of Valerie’s Sacred Gear. After all, Sephiroth Graal was a Longinus, and information about the thirteen Longinus Sacred Gear shouldn’t be disclosed in front of outsiders.

However, she was also quite shocked inwardly as Meliodas was implying that he had managed to replicate the abilities of Sephiroth Graal.

No matter how many times she had seen him defy common sense, it would always shock her whenever she heard him doing something outlandish and borderline impossible.

“Hold on a moment!” Ageha interjected, her gaze sharp as she addressed Meliodas. “I’m a Buddhist, so after my death, my soul was in the Buddhist Afterlife. How did you manage to summon me here without alerting the Buddhas?”

Ageha had been talking with her grandson for a few hours already, so if the Buddhas had been alerted while she was summoned by Meliodas, they certainly would have stormed this place by now. So, she was sure that the Buddhas didn’t know a soul had left their domain in an unconventional manner.

Meliodas chuckled and explained, “Well, let’s say I have backdoor access to Buddhist Afterlife. Even if I walked in right now, no one from the Buddhist Faction would be able to sense my presence. So, summoning a soul from there without alerting the Buddhas was of no problem to me.”

Ageha very much wanted Meliodas to clearly explain what he meant by ‘backdoor access’, however, she knew that this would be the most he would reveal to her. So, she stopped asking.

“I see… that’s quite impressive, Meliodas-san. But, don’t think I’ll keep this fact from the Buddhas if I found out you were abusing this ‘backdoor’ of yours.”

Ageha was basically implying that she wouldn't disclose the information about Meliodas having a backdoor to the Buddhist Afterlife unless he forced her hand.

“Understood,” Meliodas replied with a playful smirk, not taking her threat seriously at all. Even if they knew, nothing would change.

On the side, Tobio was struggling to process everything. He glanced at his grandmother, who appeared surprisingly calm, and then at Meliodas, muttering under his breath, “This is way above my understanding…”

Serafall, meanwhile, had other concerns. As the Satan of Foreign Affairs, she was slightly worried that this incident may cause some trouble for the Devils.

So, even though she knew that Meliodas didn’t do things half-heartedly, she used the Telepathic Communication function of the Binder Sigil and sought confirmation, ‘Melio-tan, are you sure that there would be no problem from the Buddhist Faction?’

‘Rest assured, Sera-chan. There’s really nothing to worry about. I was quite thorough with my actions.’ Meliodas responded while conveying feelings of absolute confidence.

Hearing the confirmation, Serafall gave a subtle nod and thought, ‘No extra work for me. That’s good.’

“So,” Meliodas began, his expression uncharacteristically serious, “it’s time for your soul to return to its rightful place, Ageha-san.”

Ageha nodded with serene acceptance, her face calm and composed. She had cherished the opportunity to reunite with her grandson but understood that her time here was borrowed.

Tobio, while visibly reluctant, also knew deep down that his grandmother had passed on, and it wasn’t right to keep her tied to this world. Despite the bittersweet moment, he was deeply grateful for the precious hours they had spent together.

Knowing that Ageha was content and at peace in the Buddhist Afterlife gave him the closure he needed to face his own life anew.

With a small, trembling smile, he spoke, “Thank you, Grandma... for everything. I’ll always cherish our time together and do my best to live a life you can be proud of.”

Ageha floated closer to Tobio, “Tobio,” she said with warmth and love, “you’ve already made me so proud. Live with courage and kindness, my dear grandson, and know that I’ll always be watching over you.”

As Meliodas prepared to send Ageha back, his hand already raised and a delicate magic circle forming around her shimmering spirit, Ageha’s voice stopped him. “Before you send me back, I have one final request.”

Meliodas paused, lowering his hand and dismissing the magic circle. “Go on.”

Ageha looked at Tobio, who was watching the exchange intently. “Having come into contact with you,” she began, her tone laced with concern, “Tobio is bound to encounter the Supernatural World more often in the future. It’s inevitable. I only ask one thing: please, teach him everything he needs to know about it. Ensure that he understands its dangers, its complexities, and its truths so that he can make informed decisions about his life.”

Tobio blinked in surprise, clearly not expecting such a request. “Grandma, I—”

Ageha held up a ghostly hand, silencing him gently. “Tobio, this world is not as simple or as kind as you’ve known it to be. I don’t want you walking blindly into something you don’t understand. Promise me you’ll learn.”

“I promise, Grandma.” Seeing the concern and seriousness in Ageha’s eyes, he made the vow without any hesitation.

“Is that it?” Meliodas suddenly asked nonchalantly, breaking the solemn atmosphere between the grandmother and grandson duo.

Then, Meliodas extended his left hand, and with a flash of golden-yellow light, a magic circle appeared. From it, he summoned a sleek, glass-like metallic device, strikingly similar to the one he and Tobio had used earlier to seal their contract.

Calmly, Meliodas stepped forward and lightly tapped the center of Tobio’s forehead with his index and middle fingers. A faint golden-yellow light shimmered at his fingertips, and Tobio flinched, letting out a low groan of mild discomfort.

“What did you do?” Ageha asked, more out of curiosity than any wariness or anger. She now had faith that Meliodas wouldn’t do anything harmful to Tobio.

Meliodas flashed a reassuring smile. “Oh, don’t worry, Ageha-san. I didn’t do anything harmful,” he said smoothly. “I just transferred the basic knowledge on how to operate the DeviPhone.

Holding up the metallic device he had summoned, Meliodas continued, “DeviPhone is a Mobile Smartphone Device designed and created by Ajuka Beelzebub, the current Satan Beelzebub and the Head of Technological Department of Devil Society. It’s a state-of-the-art device that you can use to access the DeviNet.”

“The DeviNet?” Tobio tilted his head, curiosity flickering in his eyes.

Meliodas nodded, “It’s essentially the supernatural equivalent of the internet. Through it, you can find a wealth of information about the Supernatural World—history, races, factions, magic systems, and even information like which area on Earth comes under which Pantheon or Faction. Think of it as your personal guide and library for everything you need to know to navigate this new reality.”

Tobio blinked, taking in the explanation. “So… I can easily learn about the Supernatural World just by using this?”

“Exactly.” Meliodas handed the device to Tobio, who accepted it carefully. The device was slim and didn’t feel like it would weigh more than two kilograms to Tobio.

“It’s user-friendly, and thanks to the basic knowledge I just uploaded into your mind, you’ll have no trouble figuring out how to operate it. Consider it your first step toward understanding the world you’ve been drawn into.”

Ageha smiled faintly, watching the exchange. “You’ve thought of everything, haven’t you?”

“I aim to please.” Meliodas said with amusement dancing in his eyes.

With the promise he made earlier, Tobio nodded and accepted the DeviPhone without any fuss. “Thank you, Meliodas-san. I’ll make sure to learn everything I can.”

“Good,” Meliodas said with a satisfied grin. “I don’t want my Gaming Buddy to be ignorant after all.”

Tobio then looked at his grandmother and gathered the courage to say, “Goodbye, grandma! I love you!”

Ageha smiled with a mix of pride and replied, “I love you too, Tobio!”

Her form began to glow once more as a golden-yellow magic circle appeared around her with a simple gesture from Meliodas.

“Live well, my dear grandson.”

Her voice lingered as her spirit dissolved into the light, leaving the room filled with a gentle warmth.

After a brief silence, Meliodas broke the awkward atmosphere. “Well, Tobio, we’ll take our leave now. If you ever need my help with anything, don’t hesitate to give me a call, alright? Your DeviPhone already has my number saved in it.”

Tobio nodded, a small smile forming on his face as he gave a slight bow. “Alright, Meliodas-san. For everything you’ve done today, I’ll always be grateful.”

“I was just fulfilling my part of the deal. No need for eternal gratitude or anything like that,” Meliodas waved off the thanks with a casual gesture.

Turning to Serafall, he continued, “Let’s go, Sera-chan. If I’m not mistaken, there’s a cosplay event happening in Akihabara. It should be a fun experience.”

“Oh! Really? Let’s go, let’s go! What are we waiting for?” Serafall’s excitement filled the room as she practically bounced in place.

Chuckling at her enthusiasm, Meliodas raised his right hand, summoning a shimmering golden-yellow magic circle around his body.

In an instant, his casual turtleneck sweatshirt and loose pants vanished, replaced by a striking orange gi paired with a dark blue undershirt, waistbands, and belt. Even his hair spiked upward into a golden hue, and his eyes shifted from blue to an intense teal.

Tobio stared, utterly dumbfounded at the transformation. At that moment, Meliodas resembled a character straight out of Dragon Ball: a Super Saiyan with compact, well-defined muscles, golden hair, teal eyes, and a martial arts gi almost identical to Son Goku’s iconic outfit.

"Alright, Tobio, see you around," Meliodas said with a casual wave as Serafall excitedly latched onto his arm, practically bouncing in place after his transformation.

Tobio, finally snapping out of his shock, managed a nod in response, acknowledging Meliodas' words.

Moments later, a golden-yellow magic circle materialized beneath Meliodas and Serafall's feet, its intricate patterns glowing with increasing intensity. Just as the light began to brighten, Serafall suddenly produced a shimmering business card from thin air. With a flick of her wrist, she levitated it toward Tobio, flashing her trademark cheerful smile.

“Oh, right! Here’s my special business card,” she chirped. “It has my personal number. If you ever need advice on Magical Girl outfits, don’t hesitate to call me!”

In the next instant, a brilliant flash of light engulfed the room, and when it faded, Meliodas and Serafall were gone, leaving an awkwardly flustered Tobio behind.

“I was just curious if Magical Girls actually existed…” Tobio muttered under his breath. Of course, there was no one left to hear his excuse—ahem, explanation.

Poor Tobio.

│3rd Person POV │

[Human World, Japan, Akihabara…]

As Meliodas and Serafall entered the bustling event venue, they instantly became the center of attention, drawing gazes full of shock and awe.

Meliodas, in particular, drew countless gazes.

To the crowd, he wasn’t just a cosplayer attempting to embody a Super Saiyan—he was a Super Saiyan brought to life.

From his striking golden hair to his perfectly proportioned muscles and flawless martial arts Gi, everything about him exuded an aura of authenticity that surpassed mere imitation. He looked exactly how fans envisioned a real-life Super Saiyan, leaving an almost supernatural impression on everyone who saw him.

Serafall, on the other hand, was no less captivating. In the past few years, the animated version of Miracle☆Levia-tan has gained immense popularity, making her costume instantly recognizable.

To the crowd, she was the ultimate cosplayer of Miracle Levia-tan, the beloved protagonist of the show. Of course, none of them realized that she wasn’t just cosplaying—she was Miracle Levia-tan herself. After all, the live-action version of the series was only available on DeviNet, accessible exclusively to members of the Supernatural World.

Before coming here, Meliodas had Aurora investigate the event to confirm that no one associated with Supernatural World was present in this event as he just wanted to have some fun with Serafall without any unnecessary drama.

It took a few moments for the crowd to snap out of their daze, the surreal sight of Meliodas and Serafall momentarily overwhelming their senses.

Soon enough, a few brave individuals gathered the courage to approach them, curiosity and excitement lighting up their expressions.

“Um, excuse me,” A young man cosplaying as Hatake Kakashi from Naruto began hesitantly, his voice tinged with awe as he looked up at Meliodas. “Your Super Saiyan cosplay is... incredible. Did you make the costume yourself? The details are insane! And your muscles—they are just perfect!”

Before Meliodas could respond, another voice chimed in, this time a bubbly girl wearing a Sailor Moon magical girl outfit. “And you, oh my gosh! You’re the Miracle Levia-tan, right? Your costume is perfect! How did you get the staff and those glittering effects to look so real?” She twirled in place excitedly, clutching a digital camera in her hands. “Could I get a photograph together with you? I’m a huge fan of the anime!”

Serafall giggled, clearly enjoying herself, “Of course! But just so you know,” she said with a playful wink, “I can sign an autograph for you. After all, this isn’t just cosplay—I really am Miracle Levia-tan!”

The group burst into laughter, assuming she was playing along with the role.

Meanwhile, Meliodas laughed heartily and patted the Kakashi cosplayer on the show, “Thanks for the compliment, but these muscles are not all show, you know!” He said, flexing his arm slightly.

Gasps of admiration followed, and several cameras came out, clicking away as fans eagerly snapped photos.

More and more people started gathering around them, their initial hesitation replaced with a wave of enthusiasm. Questions and compliments flew from every direction.

“Where did you get that wig? It looks so natural!”

“Can you do the Super Saiyan scream for us?”

Meliodas and Serafall exchanged amused glances, each silently agreeing to go along with the fun. The day had just begun, and already, it was shaping up to be an unforgettable experience.

As such a few hours passed by.

Before they realized it, the Cosplay Event was nearing its end. Just then, both Meliodas and Serafall’s DeviPhones buzzed simultaneously, emitting a unique ringtone.

They exchanged a brief glance, then quickly disengaged from the crowd and made their way out of the venue.

Once they reached a more secluded area, Meliodas cast a privacy barrier with his Barrier Magic, while Serafall began preparing a Teleportation Spell to New Lilith, specifically to Lucifer Castle.

The distinctive ringtone they both received was an emergency signal, one that only sounded in critical situations within the Underworld, summoning the attention of all four Satans.

Naturally, Meliodas was also instantly alerted, thanks to his powerful connections with the Satans and Aurora’s intelligence network.

As Serafall finished casting the Teleportation Spell, Meliodas swiftly changed out of his cosplay outfit, returning to his usual clothes. The only difference was the addition of a long black cloak, which added a dramatic touch to his look, making him appear even more imposing.

In the next moment, a flash of deep blue light enveloped them, and both Meliodas and Serafall vanished from the Human World. As they disappeared, the privacy barrier Meliodas had erected silently dissolved, leaving no trace of their presence behind.
