82. Whitebeard has a biological Son?! (2)

“What?!”

“Impossible!!”

“There’s no way that’s true!!”

One after another, the various Division Commanders couldn’t help but shout out words of denial after Morgans finished speaking.

Most of this group of pirates had been living with Whitebeard for more than a decade.

Each and every one of them had been adopted by Whitebeard and they wholeheartedly accepted Whitebeard as their father.

They all knew what kind of person Whitebeard was.

Whitebeard didn’t care at all about the affairs of man and woman, and they were sure he didn’t have any relationships with anyone.

How could someone be Whitebeard’s biological son then?

This person literally popped out of nowhere and his claim was even acknowledged by the World Government.

This prompted them to order the Marines to construct the G6 base as soon as possible.

This could be for revenge or for simply monitoring the Whitebeard Pirates to keep track of their increasing strength. It could also be both.

“Nothing is Impossible.”

Facing their objections, Morgans remained calm and continued, “The World Government had conducted tests to verify his claims.

“I got information that they even involved Vegapunk in this. This information should not be wrong. This guy, Weevil, is most likely to be Whitebeard’s son.

“His physical powers are also similar to Whitebeard’s when he was young. If he had the power of Tremor Tremor Fruit, he would absolutely be identical to Whitebeard in terms of skill set.

“Now you know why the World Government is so willing to construct the G6 base to monitor and restrict the development of your crew, right?

“The World Government is already apprehensive of a single Whitebeard. However, Whitebeard is already old, and over time, he will grow even older and weaker.

“Now that there’s a possibility that a second Whitebeard may appear, they aren’t willing to take any chances.”

As Morgans finished speaking, the situation became clear for Marco and the others.

This G6 Marine Base matter was an unforeseen disaster.

It was largely unrelated to the Whitebeard Pirates. But because Weevil was believed to be the Whitebeard's biological son by the World Government, they thought that this guy would eventually join the Whitebeard Pirates, and may even become its next Captain.

Even though it was announced by Whitebeard himself that Ron was his heir, Weevil was, after all, Whitebeard’s own son in the World Government’s eyes.

The chances that this guy would inherit the position of Captain of the Whitebeard Pirates were greater than Ron.

Maybe they believe that the Whitebeard Pirates wouldn’t last much longer in Ron’s hands, but could under Weevil.

This was something unacceptable for the World Government and the Marines too.

Their main intention in taking this step was likely to prevent the meeting of the Whitebeard Pirates and Weevil.

‘This imposter is making things difficult for us even without lifting a finger against us. I don’t remember any mention of G6 Marine Base in the Canon. Oh well, I can’t ascertain if this happened in Canon.

‘Let’s stop speculating any further in this direction.’ Ron thought to himself.

This matter would significantly hinder any moves the Whitebeard Pirates make in the near future.

It was even possible that they wouldn’t be able to acquire Pure Gold in two months' time. Without Pure Gold, Whitebeard’s old age problem would continue to trouble.

While Ron was lost in thinking about the various implications of the successful establishment of G6 Marine Base, Marco, and the others were still gripping with the information Morgans told them.

“Could this guy really be Pops’ son?”

“You think the World Government would make a mistake?”

“So what? You believe it’s possible for Pops’ to have a biological son?”

Before, they wouldn’t have entertained such a notion. They would have discarded it as a baseless rumor.

However, seeing the confidence with which Morgans stated that the World Government was sure Weevil was Whitebeard’s biological son, they were at a loss on what to believe.

Because, no matter what Weevil had done, or how much problem he had caused to the Whitebeard Pirates, if he really was Whitebeard's son, they were inclined to accept him in their ranks and protect him.

After all, this was Whitebeard’s direct bloodline they were talking about.

They couldn’t turn a blind eye to this, and they couldn’t afford to see their Pops in pain if the information turned out to be true.

Taking a deep breath, Marco spoke up, “If that is really the case, we should be ready to head out as soon as possible after we finish here.

“If he’s really Pops’ son, we should head out quickly to rescue since he could be in trouble due to his actions against Zephyr.”

Hearing his words, the other Commanders also spoke up one after another, expressing their support for Marco’s decision.

Ron saw the direction this discussion was going and he couldn’t help but interject, “Everyone, let’s calm down first before making any decision, alright?

“After all, it is the World Government we are dealing with. They may really believe that Weevil is Pops’ son or they may not and are just spreading this false information for the sake of leading us into a trap.

“We shouldn’t jump to make a decision regarding this matter without Pops. After all, whether he is Pops’ biological son or not, Pops knows the best.

“If this information is true, Pops will definitely give us the order to bring him back. We can take action then.

“However, if this information turns out to be false, no offense Morgans, it would cause our Whitebeard Pirates to be misled by the World Government and Marines.”

Hearing Ron’s words, Marco and the other Division Commanders calmed down.

Ron was right, they couldn’t decide anything at the moment without Whitebeard’s input. And the battle between Whitebeard and Ochoku was in its last stages anyway.

On the other hand, Morgans saw that with just a few words, Ron was able to put to rest the doubts and unease of the Division Commanders.

He was impressed and gleeful upon seeing this.

This showed that Ron was capable of remaining calm in front of unexpected situations and could also keep others from making wrong decisions under stress.

Maybe Ron would really become the next Captain of the Whitebeard Pirates.

Morgans was sure this information would fetch a good price if sold to appropriate parties.
