End of March, and an important reminder.

Good day(night) Tex. Save voice if needs be. You talking about D2 has brought back the memories of driving in dropping out co-op. Tons of hours into that game. Adepticon went great, loved your Mag 7 that debuted. I must not of been the only one to ask Catalyst if you were there because the gentleman I asked asked me if I had been put up by you to ask. Boys had fun doing 2.5 days of grinder with lots of stompy robots getting turned into scrap. On the drive home my boys for the 1st time started listening to your text talks battletech and they are in love. (They thought your voice was modulated but I explained it wasn't) Boys want to go back next year so that's always good. Keep swinging and your videos have been keeping me entertained at work. Thank you

Just don't lock me in the Van Zandt Beer Hall until we raise 40M CBills like that pastor(40K) did recently either!

Tex, Your story about juicing green onions on the podcast had me laughing so hard I was tearing up. I had to pull over and catch my breath. It made my morning a lot better, thank you.

I would like a picture of that Exporto when it's done.

Hey Tex, I have a deep loathing for the people who shout that they must see a game company fail because they are not the "true visionaries" of the game so the IP can finally become part of a highly restrictive and exclusive treehouse club just to spite everyone else. In other words the kind of people who insist the Word of Blake are the heroes of BT. That said I can't quite see what brought some people to Battletech Gothic. It's the creativity issue that had every fantasy game suddenly sprout double bladed versions of every weapon, that if you want to show you are a badass swordmaster you hold your sword in a reverse grim like nobody ever did in the whole of history !!! Or why suddenly all forms of powered armour now have this bright light in the center of their chest or why every SF game since ages has people carrying stubby guns in the multiple inch caliber range, with a hint of a barrel and no stocks. Or to put it another way, hey look another grimdark gothic minis game. Not my cup of tea, sorry. Everyone used to bet I would love Warmachine, didn't do a thing for me. Even less so after I painted up a bunch for a buddy. Probably also the reason I never invested much in Heavy Gear even though the guy who does love it keeps trying to convince me it's That aside, I don't have a problem contributing my monthly buck to the BPL. I don't do much else other than my monthly sub to Lord of the Rings online. Tomorrow is Luthien for the BT campaign. Gotta ton of new Clan mechs out for this one. Just noticed I'll have to pull out my five Daishis, one original Ral Partha metal one (cute and tiny) and four plastic "token" versions from the Citytech boxed set. I still wish they made the Plastech Fatlas. Is there a BT model you like in particular Tex ?

When I first heard about this 'BattleTech Gothic' thing my first thought was, "Oh, cool. So this is an AU where stuff like The Black Marauder is real and canon? How novel." Then I actually saw it and it's basically a blatant nose-thumbing at Games Workshop and... eh. Keep on keepin' on, the sheep abides. ======== Now for something completely different (Save voice if desired) Politics!!! I know it's a dirty word (always has been) and many of us come here to avoid it, but, once it get's brought-up it invites examination and critique. One thing I've noticed in the discourse of late is the shocking level to which it seems that so many constituents of these United States just have not been paying attention. As terrible as it is to be 'terminally online' doomscrolling all the horribad things done by and for and in-the-name-of powers that be I was personally dumbfounded by what appears to me to be the polar opposite of that and just how prevalent this 'will to ignorance' appears to be. We are several decades past the point where we're voting on, "Oh, I think we should maybe not tax people so much." vs. "Oh we should do nice things with the tax monies." These days we're voting to chose between "This is Fine" ignoring the rapid decline in median standard-of-living, and wanting to pretend that the US Constitution is just 'guidelines' easily ignorable if it gets in the way of stripping human beings from disfavored demographics of their personhood. Too many it seems have this myopia where if it's not something that's directly relevant to themselves then it doesn't exist and they resent being reminded that it does. And to anyone out there who's still genuinely baffled by how many want to 'fight' you over who you voted for.... if candidate X said, "We should be allowed to inspect children's genitals to make sure they aren't 'cheating' at sports." It doesn't matter how many times you say, "But I only voted for candidate X for the tax-cuts." No, you voted for creepy adults ogling kids in the junk, whether you wanted to or not. Just.... Everybody, please.... PAY ATTENTION!! (Sorry for that, but in [Current Year] hearing people bemoan suffering social fallout from their voting choices sounds disingenuous to me. Or it did, now seeing what I have seen it's a toss-up between disingenuous and willfully ignorant. "I don't know why you're so upset with me for voting 'Leopards Eating People's Faces' party, their economic plans just make more sense to me. Also, what happened to your face?")

Appreciate you answering my note on the Succession Wars, first board game I had ever encountered built to force a stalemate from day one, honestly, in some ways like a Monopoly game hitting hour 3! Anyway, slowly getting back into painting miniatures which I have to thank you and Halzicar for. My kids are interested in what the hell dad is up to. Anyway, I think what you and the BPL do matters for many of us from a sanity perspective. Keep it up!

Seeing that Battletech Gothic... got me thinking, after my double take and search to see if it was April Fools. My thoughts pointed towards a friend whose only experience with 40k is 10th Edition, a sad state of the game and devoid of the talent that made it the titan it is. Sorry for writing a novel last time. Just for a second mention, your advice on making a list of the people in your life that you can depend on when times are tough. Is EXCELLENT, Thank you sir.

Not going anywhere, Tex. Me: Surely they will move on from the Il-Clan era. Battletech: GOTHIC Me: ....uhhhhhhh.

*wads up cash and throws at the BPL* So I've been listening to Big Red's fucking epics of videos....I am curious your thoughts, the war of 3039, would it have gone as well for the DCMS if ComStar didn't slide them equipment to fight the FedCom army? So I finally watched the Hunchback episode, my relation to your videos is that I listen to them while on route, so the Hunchback IIC......its a giant fucking elemental and you can't convince me otherwise

The Mailman

Dear Tex with the charger being your favorite underdog mech what is your least favorite underdog mech?

russell marsh

Can’t go wrong with a Wyvern. The IWM sculpt has that tall lanky thing going on.

Tory II-C

Throwing money at you and still can afford the good scotch. I don't buy it the good scotch, I settle on the acceptable scotch.

Maehock

Being C-3PO, hmm, maybe the Commando? Paint it gold and might almost pass for him. Also if you’re driving a commando, you’re probably going to be embracing cowardice much like C-3PO.

MrToBeNamedLater

My money my vote. The consensus is in! 15 voices for and the last one doesn’t count. I will continue to support the most awesome group ever 😂

Akaelik

I am listening to the Majestratum of Mondanus and boy do I need this right now. Thank you Tex and BPL for all you do.

Mike Carpenter

Have you ever thought about doing some MechCommander 1/2 playthroughs?

Telamonster

Good evening Mr. Tex. Kindly shut up and take my money. On an unrelated note: What tall humanoid light or medium mech would you say embodies the essence of 'Being C3P0'? Need to know for a dumbass paint job. Have a good day, and stay safe out there.

Santo

I will maintain my patronage for this continued madness and insanity
