Why yes, I am sick.

I will be mostly fine soon, I assure you

Why yes, I am sick. Why yes, I am sick.

I’d love to hear it!

I did the same. Opted for the Founders edition, and basically realized I had paid a not insignificant some to have myself reamed with a wire bottle brush by Firaxis.

Oh man David I’m still walking funny from the inconsiderate ass violation that is the current game of Civ 7. I broke my only rule about never preordering a game and oh jeez do I regret it. I’m sure in time it’ll change but for now it’s not even fun.

Good day Tex. Please save your voice as you choose. First congratulations on a great newspaper, the game manual and still holding it together with the twisted world that your Spanish Navy ended up in. Since you have said how much you enjoy and recommend true historical books I was just curious if you ever got to read “And I Was There: Pearl Harbor and Midway--Breaking the Secrets” by Edward Layton? I always found it fascinating not so much military intelligence as a whole worked or didn’t at times but the code breakers were an incredible group. Just curious what your thoughts on the book if you did read it. Stay safe, healthy and enjoying all your working on!

Hi again Tex. I wanted to say thank you for your content on Battletech. Because it has inspired me to run a game of D20 BESM for my table set in the Battletech universe. So I have a gun bunny, a mech pilot, a slime, a power ranger and a magical girl all running around the inner sphere creating chaos! So it's quite fun to see what my players get up to!

Brian Watt

I retract my desire for a Civ7 play-through... the game is ... unpleasant. Civ 6 Though... I would love to see.

Hey tex, back a week or so since my trip back home with my partner. Sadly we had to part ways as we live in different continents though. Feel free to save your voice! So I sort of managed to ask my grandma the questions you wanted me to pass along to her, the below is a condensed bit of the conversation - "I never quite realised when a whole bunch of nonsense stopped mattering because it never did. I found your late grandfather, he asked me to come home with him and get married. I said yes, had my children, raised them and they did their own thing. I feel they did a great job with their own lives and that's all that matters. Now look at you, you're getting up there as well and I'm so proud of all of you. That's all I care about. Also no one really cared about it. It's amazing, sure but." And a shrug. On another note, I'm looking to get on the property ladder, thankfully parents are happy to help, since it's cheaper to mortgage than rent. I've heard about your woes, so I'm going for a 2008 place, anything one should look out for / do to make sure the place doesn't have load-bearing tupperware amongst other concerning...curiosities? Thanks for your hard work as always. Just remember, you do enough, you've done a great job, make sure to take care of yourself physically and mentally to the best you can.

Hey Tex, (Save voice) bummer your house is sick. Tell the others to rest too! lol! Having a bought of shock from new medication, makes me feel like crap. I have been up to comment. The BPL News letter is awesome! Would you play a Lego Mechwarrior game? I think it would be funny as shit. Call it a "boredom while stuck in bed" thought. Stay strong, you be you we'll be us Pistol6699!

Pistol6699

Thank you for taking the time to talk to us, Tex. Save your voice. Insert doomed attempt to get you relax here. The website update is exciting, I love the MM manual and am slowly putting together a group to run a game of it. Me and a fellow BattleTech guy got a mutual friend into BattleTech through Mechwarrior 5 Clans. Where he spent the whole game punching things. Which led to a "Do you want to tell him or should I?" moment. As soon as he found out how the clans view melee combat he became a proud citizen of the Inner Sphere and we play MW5 mercenaries now. He has, however, binged all of the Tex Talks BattleTech videos and is caught up. So, slowly and steadily, I help usher friends and loved ones into the wonderous world of Stompy Murder Bots. Thank you for your time and efforts, Joy of the Day to you and the Team, a speedy recovery to you and the others, and Northwind Forever.

A very fair point about the tables, I will concede. Get well soon, man.

Hey Tex, been a while since I've dropped a comment on an update, life happens. I have also been down with the sickness, please take care of yourself and rest well and when you can

The Mailman

Thanks for the update, these are always the highlight of my week. Sending prayers up for you and the team. 🫂 Rest and Recover all of you.

Same here brother, well said.

After having spent the last 5(ish) years following yours, and the greater BPL’s content, the singular message that I feel has been constant is “make stuff that brings you joy and if possible make it with your friends”. While this sounds like a simple suggestion, I for one, have found it to be not only good advice but a life changing revelation and a balm for my soul. Since joining The Aux and it’s collection of batshit crazy weirdos, I’ve been not only inspired but encouraged and enabled to do and create things that for so many years I’d only thought and dreamed about. From podcasts, silly YouTube things, memes, and so, so much more, I’m constantly amazed and grateful to be a part of a community with such incredible creativity and passion. I’m currently in the process of editing the audio of a year long Star Wars RPG that I ran with my friends which we hope to put out soon for others to enjoy. It’s something bigger and more involved than I ever thought I’d do and it never would have happened without the support and involvement of not only my friends, but you, The Aux, and the greater BPL. Even if it never is seen or heard outside of our tiny lil corner of the internet, the joy and sense of fulfilment I’ve gotten from it and all the other things we’ve done the last few years has truly made all the difference in my life. Thank you for always being a voice of encouragement and positivity, even if it’s just one in a greater choir of nerds and weirdos. Creation truly is good for the soul.

I hope everyone gets as much joy as I do from this. In your traveler campaign when crowban lays eyes on the antimatter bomb I see him staring lovingly at the bomb while "I will always love you" is playing in his head. Crowban never knew the emotion love, but after laying eyes on the weapon to end all weapons, he finally understood. Seriously though, you guys inspired me to step up and run a DND campaign for my buddies with all the mayhem I imagined and more. Thank you guys for all the laughs

Ryan Foster

Good evening Mr. Tex. Tex: Don't worry about me guys, I have it handled. Tex's Fanbase: *Cranks the worry-o-nator up two notches* Joking aside, would you happen to have those tables you mentioned with crazy shotgun ammo for Dark Heresy on an excel spreadsheet? And if so, could I beseech you to pass me a google drive link for it? Hope you feel better soon, and stay safe out there.

Santo

I recently started enjoying the Locust in MW5

Fighter Phoenix

Get some chicken noodle soup that always helps

G'day Tex, thanks for all the hard effort the team has been putting in. I appreciate your teams hard effort. I'm glad your are doing as well as you can mate.

Brian Watt

Howdy Tex, I hope you get better soon, I've been enjoying the MM Manual. Second Semester of Grad School is going, pretty alright, I may have made a Boo-Boo on choices of research topics but Eh. I'll figure it out. The Newspaper is fun, Squic will have MANY Questions to answer. [I only sent one in]. I'm keeping on keeping on, and I hope you will keep on keeping on as well. Also I enjoy the slow cooking process of the names sticking around, it's a legacy of a sort. Keep Kicking, We're in your corner.

Grimos

Sorry y'all caught the sick. Still dealing with some sick myself. Save your voice if you like. I think what I meant with my comment last time was if you did a video on the Battletech TV Show and then kinda expand upon that to other popular media that exists in the setting. May bad if I did not word it well. Sometimes my brain dumps words like emptying a lego bin and proclaiming "Behold! A house!". Anyways still going to wish you and the team all the best and better health. I think I heard somewhere if you can be anything at all, be kind. So I will start with being kind and build up from there. Have the good one and many.

Mnemonicman

"Mr Tex has some strange priorities in his life" YOU DON'T SAY?!? Your shareholders say, rest and drink lots of fluids. I would say take off from work, but I'm sure when you show up sick they will try to send you home and you will insist on staying. When it comes to not burning out, heed thine own advice! Yes, we wish that dream for you too.

Jay McIntyre

Take care and get well soon.

Mathieu Martineau

May y'all recover swiftly. The new flu sucks.

Robert Lambert

What Mercenary Company did your tex talk battletech character served in?

russell marsh

I have the same dream as you sir - land and no people within my field of vision other than my wife. Wishing you and your household a swift recovery.

Wargaming Wanderlust

May your recovery be quick sir.
