Dear Patrons, I hope you are all doing well. I'm still looking for an add-on deck for the Gold Foil Innocence Kickstarter campaign. Each of these decks will go to print sooner or later, but I would be interested to know which deck you are most looking forward to. Feel free to write your opinion in the comments.

Thanks for the detailed reply Daniel. You would appreciate that not many custom decks get a reprint/2nd edition so when you miss out on a deck you are hostage to the vagaries of the aftermarket if you really, really want it. Your V2 Muffins sounds just like Ian Cumpstey's release of a 2nd Edn of his Inglewood Hunting deck - because people wanted the 1st Edn but had not been able to get a hold of it. I might disagree that the main reason cardists want to get a product on KS is to support the creator - I think at least 50% just want the deck. I am guessing the Muffin cards are already printed or what do you think of the idea of the backs being Reverse Muffins like the gaff 8S of V1 ? :)

2024-05-05 22:37:55 +0000 UTCHey, first of all thanks a lot for your support! I'm happy to have you on board :) I understand that it can be annoying when a creator or company offers something as limited and then just reprints the same deck to sell more of it. If it's really 1:1 the same deck, that's not okay. But people who know my work know that I don't just reprint a deck without changing anything. As for the Muffin deck, I like the idea of the different color in the box, because you can see right away which version it is. But the box itself would already have a different text and there would be 56 cards in the deck instead of just 54. Apart from that, the deck would even be printed by a different company. So there really are a lot of details that distinguish the deck from the first edition. But even if all that wasn't the case, I don't even think it's bad if other creators simply reprint their deck without any changes, as long as there's an indication on the box that it's a new edition. Like a text that says “second edition” or even just the year it was printed. I've been criticized in the past for a reprint where a collector complained because I supposedly said it was Kickstarter exclusive. Which is simply not true. And mind you, this reprint had 54 newly designed picture cards, so you can only complain if you don't bother with the details :D I am forced to print a certain amount of deck. If I print 2500 decks but only sell 100, then I'm stupid if I have to throw away 2400 decks :D That's why the arguments about the aftermarket always bother me a little. I'm not telling anyone that they have to spend huge sums of money on my decks and I don't even think that's a good idea. As for the Legacy deck - and actually every deck I sell on Kickstarter - you don't have to buy it on Kickstarter either. If not all the decks are sold, then I'll offer them on my website and Murphy's Magic will surely want some of them. The main reason why people want to get a product directly on Kickstarter is the support and appreciation for the creator. Otherwise no project would get funded. And in my case, I'm basicallly giving with Legacy deck away for free in the First Come First Served bundle. I think that's also not the worst argument :D

2024-05-05 08:18:15 +0000 UTCNot changing much stings a newb who paid serious dollars to get it from the aftermarket. It also makes one wonder if buying the latest KS Innocence bundle to get the Legacy deck is necessary if it will one day be 'accessible to more people' anyway (although a newb, I know that is how most got their Muffins). I say go with more changes for V2 Eg Have the backs as the reverse direction muffins (like the gaff 8s in V1) Not only pink inside the tuck but also make the Red suits Pink and introduce a bit of pink into their Courts

2024-03-07 16:26:39 +0000 UTCThe basic idea is to make the deck accessible to more people without changing much. V2 will have a different box color inside - pink instead of green and the Ace of Spades is slightly different. But the most important thing is that the overall quality will be better :D
