10 Year Anniversay Edition

I want to share with you some of my thoughts regarding the 10 Year Anniversay Edition.

Since a few days I'm working harder on the completion of this deck. I will make another request to USPCC, but I don't see much hope there, so I will go back to WJPC for this edition. It is too risky for USPCC to combine MetalLuxe and normal CMYK color when the foil and CMYK are very close to each other at the edge - so they simply don't accept these deck designs anymore.

Although I don't owe anyone any justification, I already know that questions will arise as to why I print with WJPC. That is the annoying part. I could do it like some other creators and simply make a secret out of the printing company. However, I also know that when the backers of my last Innocence Holo campaign receive the decks, they will be pleasantly surprised. I also see no reason to make a mystery out of it, just to avoid any unfriendly messages. It would be a concealment of the truth somewhere and I don't need that.

My goal is to keep delivery times as short as possible after the end of every campaign. Unfortunately, I did not succeed in the last project despite enough lead time as I had imagined. The waiting puts more and more pressure on me as the delay increases, because the backers are getting impatient. Even though the vast majority have no problem waiting, these are incredibly nerve-wracking days and weeks for me.

The only way to counteract this waiting time is to send the whole deck to print much earlier. However, there are 2 difficulties that need to be solved. For one thing, I have to pay for the production months before the actual campaign and secondly, the fact that the campaign needs to be so successful that I will at least come out of it with plus minus zero. Of course, my Kickstarter history says that shouldn't be a problem. Nevertheless, every campaign is always a run into the unknown for me and associated with such a lot of stress that it always drives me to the brink of despair.

It costs so much to produce the decks that I can't raise it all at once. Fortunately, I only have to raise 30% for production to start. Without your support here on Patreon I would not be able to pay this 30% carefree. Thank you so much for being here with me. I hope I can express this gratitude, with the cards you receive. I really don't know at this point how to pay the remaining 70% before the campaign starts so that I can ship everything to Murphy's Magic. I just hope that the profit of the upcoming decks this year and my work on the Orbit deck can cover it.

But let's get away from financial worries. With WJPC I'm able to use cold foil gold on the back as well as the front. One thing that would be beyond any financial scope if we would print with USPCC. And since it's the 10 year edition, of course I want every detail to be as perfect as possible.

I don't know how worth knowing this info is for you guys :D But I just wanted to share my thoughts with you as I mentioned in the beginning. It wouldn't work this way without you.

Much love

Daniel

Money and deadlines put stress on everyone no matter what they are working to achieve. My personal view is minimise the stress on yourself where possible. Most people are happy with your lead times. Things sometimes go wrong and things take longer than anticipated. Ultimately added stress will impact on you and your health. No one wants to see a negative impact like that. So take care and do what you have been doing. Stay safe and stay well. If someone is going to make a big issue regarding lead times when you are one of the best for minimising waiting, you can do without them as a customer.

Every release is something to be excited about and to see some glimpses of this 10yrAn Deck really gives us something to look forward too! Crazy that a decade has gone by and many awesome decks in the meanwhile!
