New MxS deck

I'm currently working on the extras for the "First Come First Serve" Kickstarter reward for the Innocence holo deck. If everything works as I imagine, there will be a very nice new add-on, which I've never done before. As soon as I have something more to show you will of course be the first to see what I am talking about.

On the side, I started designing the face cards of a completely new MxS deck a few days ago. Before I put the focus completely on the Innocence campaign, I wanted to show you a few details.

It will be the first deck with standard looking courts where I say goodbye to my KD without a crown and short hair. I started to design my own court card almost 10 years ago. At the time, I thought the fancier the details, the cooler it would be. With each new deck release I have cut back on these "fancy" details, as I have realized that the true art is much more hidden in the subtleties. Since I just got so used to the card, it was so hard for me to change it. Although I knew that it is actually not right. However, for the new MxS deck it doesn't feel weird anymore. Perhaps precisely because it is a new deck. I haven't asked myself yet if I want to use this card in every other Black Roses deck. I also don't want to think about that yet. :D
But as you can see I put a lot of thoughts into this small little detail and not much less thought goes into all the other courts. For many, these are negligible trifles. But these little trifles make the difference.

Compared to a standard USPCC court the smaller display provides a more elegant look. A thinner frame around the drawing and darker colors add a more vintage vibe.

And the most obvious detail - closed eyes. Mind you, not my idea but a beautiful detail that allows a lot of room for intertretation.
