A few days ago I saw the Private Reserve Makers from Dan and Dave. This deck has MetalLuxe in combination with normal ink with the same distance like my Hotel deck. So of course I was wondering why USPCC can print this deck but not mine?
So with renewed hope I contacted USPCC again. This was their response:
"Ah yes it was done with MetalLuxe a while back but due to the issues we saw with decks that we were registering a foil to the print on we had to go ahead and update the rules for MetalLuxe as we just don’t want to put out in the market something we are not great at producing."
The Makers aren't even that old. So it's even more annoying for me to know that I'm simply too late since I had a lot plans with MetalLuxe and my 10 year anniversary Black Roses decks in a few years.
However, I talked to Hanson Chien two days about a few details how we can produce this deck. Besides cold foil on the back I thought about silver paper on the inside of the tuck. Just take a look at the image and imagine how great it will look in real life. Of course that is also a price question and I still don't know how expensive everything is going to be with cold foil. But right now I'm willing to pay quite a lot to make the inside silver.
Right now I'm also not really happy anymore with the "third edition" text on the side of the box. Technically yes, it is the third edition. But with all the silver foil everywhere it clearly stands out from the other editions. "Third edition" sounds like it doesn't do the deck justice. It could be almost a private reserve deck. I could simply remove it but then it makes no sense anymore why the editions are written on the first and second edition. So I probably keep it.
