Beauties, check out the complete marking system of the Black Roses Lavenders.
My very first marked deck are the Polyantha Playing Cards. I absolutely love the system of this deck but I also understand the criticism that the markings are too small for some people. That is definitely no longer the case in the Lavender deck.
A few things about the Kickstarter release next year:
My birthday is on February 19. It would be great to end the Black Roses Levander campaign on the same day. I already did this with my second Kickstarter deck, the Black Roses Immergrün Edition. If it won't be in February, then I do my best to start the campaign in March.
Out of respect for some other designers who did a deck campaign this year I shifted my Kickstarter campaigns so that I don't cross their projects.
I still have that in mind but as you know there is no week anymore without a new deck release and a Kickstarter campaign normally takes 2-4 weeks.
So of course I try not to start a campaign at the same time but I see no reason why I should accommodate myself. Then I would just take the worst launch dates for myself.
And if it's really a great design, I can't imagine that another deck campaign is less successful because of my project.
As you can see I'm really careful not to step on anyone's feet. Maybe I'm overthinking - you need to tell me. At least I know other people wouldn't even think so far.
Another thing is the current USPCC production time. I don't want to let you wait that long anymore. The only way to fight against the delays is that I send the Black Roses Lavenders to USPCC by the end of this year. So when the campaign ends, the decks are ready to ship. Maybe it still takes 3-4 weeks but at least not 3-4 months.
One "big" problem comes with this idea. I already need to know how much decks need to get printed. Yes, so far all Black Roses Kickstarter campaigns were succesful and the Lavenders will get printed - no matter what - but I have absolutely no clue how much people are going to order the deck. If you just look at it from outside, everything looks so easy. But the reality is that the sales sway back and forth. That's why I'll never get rid of the nervousness before each release.
Of course there is a printing quantity that I aim for. But paying that amount upfront is a risk. A risk I couldn't even take two years ago. It's possible that only half of the decks get sold. On the other side it's also possible that not even enough decks get printed.
All of these thoughts wouldn't be a problem without any delays.
However, I care about what you think, so let me know.
Cheers
Daniel
