Beauties, I want to bring back the Innocence decks with a matte tuck box. Straight to my website - no crowdfunding.
In 2018 I already printed 2500 Innocence decks. The deck sold out pretty fast and I was torn over whether to reprint them or not.
For me the Innocence Playing Cards are very close to my heart and I didn't like the fact that a reprint feels so much like a cash grab. Of course we all have to make a living but if I put money before my art then all my work would lose its soul.
The fact that the deck was limited to 2500 decks was also special to me. I liked the exclusivity. But now I don't like that people don't have the chance anymore to get their hands on the deck. I posted these images a few days ago on Instagram and people who are new in this "scene" even think it is a new deck. It just shows me how fast-paced everything has become.
I often tried to explain how much this deck means to me. I always failed to put it into the right words. The Innocence deck is the only deck I would use for the rest of my life. Over a half year I worked on the design like a maniac. Day and night. It's not something you can do if it's just a job for you. Even if it's your hobby you would lose the motivation over the time. I was driven by something bigger than that.
I don't really want to change anything on the design. Everything should remain the same, only that I can use my updated face cards now and a matte tuck box - which could cause the biggest problems.
Murphy's warned me that they recently had a bunch of "dirty" complaints on white matte tucks that they have purchased. USPCC said it would be something they cannot avoid since dirt does get picked up on white matte tucks.
Of course this made me think if a matte tuck is the right choice. I really want the matte tuck because the tuck is the only detail that still can get improved and I know you'll love this update.
There are 4 different matte papers that USPCC offers. I should get some samples with the printed proofs of the Blue Magic deck in the next few days.
Maybe you own some white matte tucks. Let me know if you are happy with them or not.
Much love
D
