Innocence Playing Cards

Beauties, I want to bring back the Innocence decks with a matte tuck box. Straight to my website - no crowdfunding.

In 2018 I already printed 2500 Innocence decks. The deck sold out pretty fast and I was torn over whether to reprint them or not.

For me the Innocence Playing Cards are very close to my heart and I didn't like the fact that a reprint feels so much like a cash grab. Of course we all have to make a living but if I put money before my art then all my work would lose its soul.

The fact that the deck was limited to 2500 decks was also special to me. I liked the exclusivity. But now I don't like that people don't have the chance anymore to get their hands on the deck. I posted these images a few days ago on Instagram and people who are new in this "scene" even think it is a new deck. It just shows me how fast-paced everything has become.

I often tried to explain how much this deck means to me. I always failed to put it into the right words. The Innocence deck is the only deck I would use for the rest of my life. Over a half year I worked on the design like a maniac. Day and night. It's not something you can do if it's just a job for you. Even if it's your hobby you would lose the motivation over the time. I was driven by something bigger than that.

I don't really want to change anything on the design. Everything should remain the same, only that I can use my updated face cards now and a matte tuck box - which could cause the biggest problems.

Murphy's warned me that they recently had a bunch of "dirty" complaints on white matte tucks that they have purchased. USPCC said it would be something they cannot avoid since dirt does get picked up on white matte tucks.

Of course this made me think if a matte tuck is the right choice. I really want the matte tuck because the tuck is the only detail that still can get improved and I know you'll love this update.

There are 4 different matte papers that USPCC offers. I should get some samples with the printed proofs of the Blue Magic deck in the next few days.

Maybe you own some white matte tucks. Let me know if you are happy with them or not.

Much love

D

How many decks made

Jason smith

How many are you going to have this time?

Jason smith

*Embossesd "with" gloss*

I recently received a deck of the new blue metallic Gatorbacks and it had a matte white tuck and the print is just embossed and gloss, it looks like there's no print at all until you catch a glare on the gloss and it's absolutely beautiful. But the matte white was flawless, I also received 1st Playing Card Co V3 and it has a matte white tuck and no issues. I know Chris uses Grove Street Press for his tucks so I don't know if that is a diffrence

Tim Adams

Wow that would be amazing :)

Stu Batman

Not in this deck :D but there should be definitely a chance again in a future deck.

Daniel Schneider

P.s can I pay to be on a court card just throwing that out there ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Stu Batman

Yes yes yes plz thank you sir Iโ€™ve only got 2 decks I need 200 decks my favourite deck of all :)

Stu Batman

I think you should just do it. A matte white tuck will make the deck complete and a donโ€™t think changing colors is a good idea. It will just be a roll of the dice which I donโ€™t think people will mind that much. I mean.. itโ€™s all about keeping what is already great in this deck and that is what matters the most

I just did a deck cut of David Blaine's Blue Foil Gatorbacks- white matte tuck, with the blue foil and gorgeous gloss white embellishments. The tuck is from USPCC and I didn't see any dirt, flaws, fingerprints, or anything else. I've got a few other matte white tucks in my collection and haven't ever had any issues with them being "dirty." I think Daphnis has a good idea, maybe take a look and see if you can get anything thats just a tad off-white. Be it a hint of grey, or blue, or whatever- maybe just the tiniest bit would help?

ShashinMasuta

In that case, maybe try a slightly grey matte tuck?

Daphnis Wang

I think the dirt comes on the tuck before USPCC put the cellophane over it and that is the problem.

Daniel Schneider

Iโ€™m in.

Joshua Collins

Please do so, white matte tuck doesn't matter, as I always leave the cellophane intact when I open the deck to protect the tuck box

Daphnis Wang

The tuck on the white Artisans that i have is quite a thin stock that marked easily. However the David Blaine white and black Lions decks have matte white tucks and they are alot of peoples go to decks so cant be that bad.

Craig Palmer

oh this is a good idea.

Danny Carey

Yes, it would make sense to make the tuck different to sell more to those people who already have the first version but that's not my goal. There is no motivation for me to change the color or design. I would just do it to please a few people.

Daniel Schneider

What about a black matte with silver letter tuck? Would still kind of go with the deck and look good if the white ends up not being a good option.

Brett Mead

I know the importance of this deck and it is my favorite of all my decks. Have you considered doing a diffrerent color then matte white? You would want it stand out a bit from the white tuck you have now and not sure just a white matte would do it... just thinking out loud. This desk is pretty great and reprint would take it down a notch i think...but a v2 with slight changes and a different tuck might be enough.

Danny Carey

Takumi Takahashi does a joker effect with a reveal which is motivating me to try with Innocence

Jorge Anido

A stand out deck to be sure! One of the best Ace of Spades ever not to mention the Jokers are phenomenal with a sweet reveal built into one! Can't wait!!

Jorge Anido

Yes to this! You had told me how much the Innocence means to you and I would love a reprint so more people can use them! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Yeah, a matte tuck for example ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Daniel Schneider

Release a different edition to keep the original exclusivity of the 1st batch. Change something on the tuck to make it just a little different. I'd get a few for sure

kevin waters
