Progress

So, work today began on Damsels 1.02, although I had to spend some time at my dayjob. Currently I still need to do about 7 renders on the Harbinger character to get that included, plus a few more for her class quest, and of course her attacks, etc., need to be coded. Anyway, I have no doubt that I can get that done and you'll see her in 1.02. I have some other ideas too and I'm hoping to incorporate some of them into 1.02 as well. After that, it looks like a Bard will be doable, and will be the final character class for Damsels, although I have lots of improvements I plan to make *after* adding the last class. Some of my ideas involving more renders, in fact, have been pushed off because I didn't want to make adding classes take even longer, and that won't be an issue once the class list is finalized.

Work on Strange Gift is also humming along. It will be slower to produce than other games I've done, just because the number of renders per scene is higher, and I expect I have to cut back on that *somewhat*, to 3-4 renders per scene rather than the 6+ I've done so far.  I've added at least one scene for Olivia, Mia, and Chloe. There will be a Hildy scene, too. I've integrated the combat system from Damsels into the code from Strange Gift, so I have something workable there. I'm now going to focus on getting one character to the point where you can play the game through with her, and with the poll fairly evenly divided, the character that I think makes the most sense story-wise is Olivia. I would expect the next release of that to be in August -- once I feel like it's a playable game, rather than a demo, I hope to move to a two week release cycle, but until then expect updates once a month.

A magically teasing piece of *very* intimate jewelry such as a hood piercing might need just one render each. Extra text in other scenes would be enough to suggest its existence.

Rather then bothering you on here (taking away valuable game making time) - where is to be best place to chat / bounce ideas off you or even offer help with some areas?

Yes, something like that was what I was thinking. If the add-ons were exclusive (i.e., a girl has either a ball gag or a chastity belt) I could see making clothed, topless, and naked versions of each. If people wanted to see renders with every possible combo, I'd have to do fewer add-ons, and/or reduce the kinds of undress they go with. Anyway, I love the suggestion -- first thought was "I can't do that, "and now I'm getting psyched about finding ways to do it. :) But I'll have to think about the trade offs. Piercings are another possibility.

Oh I understand. Having seen the work you put into the characters / renders per character. Even the smallest changes would require a lot of re-work. An idea though could be that the character you see on the main town screen is an "avatar" of sorts and that one render should be the customisable one with addons and such, rather then the battle ones and scene ones?

I think some of that's possible, as long as people don't expect the ball gag/chastity belt/etc. to show up in every render that shows the girl. I agree that more ways to spend money are nice. I've put it on my board of things to look into, after I've added the Bard class.

I would like to see more customisation options for the characters if possible. For example for 500g per character you coukd have them fitted with a collar (would require a number of renders i know). For 1000g you could have them locked into a chastity belt or a ball gag. Apart from the buildings and the occasional bit of armour, £££ seems un needed a lot of the time :)
