character design commission slots open! + note about patreon platform

hello all! i am opening up a handful of slots for character design commissions. you can read a little more about this specific type of commission on my website here-- it's the second option listed. these range from $110-$150 in price, with a little wiggle room on either end for designs that are either very simple or very complex. 

i would somewhat prefer to design original/new characters this time around, just because it gets me a little more excited about drawing, but if you are just itching to have me draw a preexisting character i'll still give it a whirl!! i'm also open to redesigning your existing characters if you're ok with giving me a little artistic freedom :~)

here is the link to request a commission! once you fill it out i'll be in contact shortly, within 1-2 days. if i don't fill the 5 slots i'm opening by the end of tomorrow i'll take the rest to twitter.

please note that if your design is particularly complex i may decline to take it at this time. this isn't because i hate drawing complex designs and will never want to work with you on it, but because i would prefer to get this batch finished within a couple months. things that might make your design particularly complex could include content like detailed wings, rainbow hair (3+ colors), suit of armor, etc. stuff like mobility aids don't count toward this! if you think your design might be complex but you're OK with it being simplified, we can definitely negotiate that.

OK. with that out of the way, i wanna talk patreon for a minute. some (most?) of you might know that patreon has just laid off a huge number of their employees, including members of its security team. this hasn't raised any alarms yet about the safety of continuing to use this platform, but i with the way the site is going and the increasingly large cut they take of my profit (roughly 23% as of now) i'm going to be looking into moving my business over to kofi or an alternative platform.

this is going to happen gradually, i'm not gonna cancel my patreon overnight, and you'll get plenty of notice as i make moves, but i think it's only fair that i give everyone a heads up that i probably won't be on patreon forever. i will retain most of the same tier structure, with some minor edits to make things more accessible. of course i am worried i'll lose people in this transfer, but i hope this will be better in the long run for both me and my patrons. it means you all won't be putting your money into the hands of a company that we know doesn't respect its employees or content creators, so hopefully a win/win?? we'll see. i'll keep you all in the loop! if you have strong opinions about which platform you think would be best for me, feel free to sound off below.
