I just listened to this episode for the second time and as far as production goes it was amazing. The music scared me to death as the episode went on. The story of course is incredible and sickening and depressing. Another brilliant job ACC.

2022-01-02 04:55:26 +0000 UTCJust talked about it with my mom. We went there in '81 and she vividly remember big areas of the beach being covered in tar. She kept my sister and I away from it, but we did get in the water. I have a sudden urge to take a really long, really hot shower.

2020-11-25 00:58:25 +0000 UTCThat explains why the water in Galveston has always looked and smelled foul. The beach is more mud than sand. I read that here have been multiple spills in the Bay since, but as long as it looks pretty in the pictures and keeps pulling in the tourists, Texas isn't going to make any real attempt at a cleanup. I shudder to think of the toxic soup my sister and my cousins and I jumped into not too many years after the Ixtoc spill, and what their kids were splashing around in decades later.
