Newsletter - December 2018

Happy holidays everyone! I can’t believe it has almost been a year since this thing started. How far we have come...

New website is live!

The Swindled website has had quite a facelift recently. If you haven’t seen it in a while, I encourage you to go check it out. I made it myself and I’m quite proud of it. SwindledPodcast.com

Second Place

Swindled was the runner-up for best true crime podcast in the 2018 Discover Pods awards. Not bad eh? Thanks for taking the time to vote. Your voice was definitely heard. You can see the results here.

No More Seasons

I’ve been toying with the idea of scrapping the seasonal format. Instead of taking one long break every year, I’ll take shorter breaks throughout the year when I need them and release episodes continuously.

Prints!

The anniversary prints will arrive later this week and will begin shipping the second week of January. There will be a post later this week on Patreon for you to claim yours. Keep an eye out!

Charity

Five percent of this month’s Patreon proceeds will be split between the Denton Music and Arts Collective (DMAC) and the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM). These were suggested by Aubrey, a Program Director for the former AND a Swindled patron. I thought it was a great idea. Both of these organizations strive to provide access to affordable health care for musicians. Thanks again Aubrey!

What’s to Come

The next episode will be released on January 6th, 2019. Patrons, of course, will receive it a few days earlier. It’s about Lou Pearlman and his boy band empire and massive Ponzi scheme. It was a lot of fun to make.

There will also be another bonus episode dropping soon. It’s about a convention that was horribly mismanaged.

Thanks for your support. See you in 2019.
