Amazing episode as always fellas. loved the unpacking of Unc, one point i'd like to speak on is this "know too much to care" mentality. While I agree as 30 approaches I do feel this jaded mentality, but then i see the changes needed in my community and how those can make a larger impact i feel as tho i just cant stand by and act all cb lol but i feel yall and understand sometimes it's easier to just not care, but complacence breeds stagnation and if there's one thing we don't need in the US is more slow moving action. the pod has been incredible so far, from the topics to Dontai's guest episode have been really insightful and tho sometimes yall just yap, it's genuine and i couldn't ask for more. I love the email interactions with the members as it really brings up some great topics for discussion. I also would enjoy break downs of media you all hold dear and why you enjoy them. also more guest, idk if yall watch matttt but his yt videos are unmatched and incredibly inspiring stories. he seems super approachable and would implore yall to check out his content at the very least

Woke up and lost control of the vehicle and hydroplaned into a grassy ditch and the momentum took me and the car to the other side of the interstate with oncoming traffic and I was nearly missed by a semi truck. My car was covered in mud/grass and before I could move it I saw headlights fill the inside of my car and heard the trucks horn blaring and figured it was over. God had his angels with me 1,000%. Every time I pass that area on the highway I still think about it. 🙏🏾

My near death experience happened when I was really young, I was riding my bike from the driveway to the street in a loop and as I was on the street again a car was speeding towards me and I froze up. They ending up swerving out the way and I was fine but still scary. As for the pod, y’all are doing amazing! I enjoy the random conversations (they’re hilarious) so I would make sure not to lose that aspect overthinking. I think bringing people on would be cool (if y’all need a candle maker hmu) and another thing that would be cool is maybe some sort of review segment where y’all talk about movies/books/cameras/mics/etc whatever y’all want. Tier lists or top 10s of a certain topic (music videos, cereal, etc) could be cool too. Remain true to y’all selves and the rest will come together. Much love to y’all! 🤍

2024-06-02 02:14:38 +0000 UTCa few years ago, i worked for a car dealership as a "lot Boy". i would do things like fill up cars that were low on gas and pump up flat tires. stuff like that. They would also have me go on these runs to these mechanic shops that sell used parts. these shops would usually be 40 mins to an hour away. One day they sent me to grab a transmission at one of these shops. They give me this pickup truck from their lot to get there and back with the transmission. Little do i know the front drivers side wheel wasn't put on all the way by one of the mechanics that also worked at the lot. it seemed fine on the way there to the used part shop. So, I'm driving and everything's fine so far, i get the transmission with no problem, but on the way back i go to pass someone in the passing lane and i start to feel a vibration and I'm like "wtf is that?". As soon as i finish that one thought "BAM". out of no fucking where the front wheel literally gives out and the whole front-end drops. mind you I'm going about 75 mph on the highway. scared the shit out of me. I'm going fast as fuck and i can see in the sideview mirror sparks from the car grinding on the pavement lmao. also, there's a fuck load of cars in my vicinity so everyone literally saw the shit. luckily i didn't cause a huge pile up lmao. it happened so fast. So, I'm freaking out trying to get the car to stop and also get out of the way of other cars. i couldn't pull to the right since i was in the passing lane and there was a car right next to me. i deadass had to drive into the ditch in the very middle of the highway where the grass was. i finally stop and I'm just sitting there breathing heavy as shit thinking i could've died. i probably sat there without moving for maybe 15 mins checking my body over and making sure I'm straight. i thought i fucking died low key. my adrenaline was through the damn roof. fast forward an hour or so the tow truck comes, and the guy says to me. "Im sUrpRiSed YoU dIdn't fLip". in my head I'm like "NIGGA WHAT?". Hearing that blew my fucking mind lmao. This shit was insane. This situation was too crazy not to share with y'all lmao. Love the pod y'all keep up the good work. Can't wait to see y'all at dreamcon this year EUGHHHH

I was at beach swimming in the ocean, maybe chest deep and the waves were pretty harsh knocking me over and the current was pushing me in the opposite direction of the waves. Next thing I knew I couldn’t touch and every time I went under I would jump to keep my head above water but it was only for a few seconds. I really thought I was going to drown because I got trapped in sort of a whirlpool. I was fighting and eventually the waves pushed me back to where I could touch. I’ll never go that deep in the ocean again.

Just make sure you stay you and not doing things just because you think people wanna see it, y'all enjoying yourselves will shine through. Professionally you could have additional topics like you said to provide maybe more structure, but I do think these topics should kind of lead into one another to provide flow if you're gonna go that route, not saying you have to but maybe that's a good way to feel like y'all are being more productive about topics and things of that nature. Adding additional side activities could be cool as well, for the Patreon you could do more 1 on 1 activities with yourselves like Pg can answer questions about filming or talking about script writing on a level different from what he may be able to do on stream. Joe can talk about the importance of music and the impact is has, or maybe questions about Dj'ing. Berlin can talk about the process of making content or some of the things he doesn't get to talk about more openly that he might want to, and y'all can come together to answer questions or talk about gaming content and just overall stuff y'all all have in common. More guest is always cool to see but don't overthink that either if you don't have to. Seeing Dontai be on here was great to see, seeing Krysta, Poiised, Mari etc are all great to see because it's all still natural it doesn't feel like an interview with strangers (which is still cool too) but just highlighting more of y'all friendships, family could be amazing to see also if they would want to. Been enjoying everything regardless!

Valorant I recently got into again because my friends play it and I'm decent enough at it but I prefer single player games or story based games with like co-op far more than anything else now. So on the way there's this wide ass turn entering the freeway and my mom is going fast through this turn and her car is literally stuttering and she's losing control of it and we almost like fly off the turn into the freeway, scariest shit I can remember recently at least. I think what makes me think about it more is the fact that my mom crashed the exact same way as we almost did and her car was destroyed. Everyone is good thank god but I refused to drive because I felt like I would be next and wouldn't be so lucky, they were both in the same year maybe 6 months later.

Ironically it happened twice, but in middle school I was hit in the head with a tennis racket. It was during PE, I remember walking away from my group to either go to the bathroom or get something (hard to remember, I was fucking concusssssed) and the next thing I remember seeing was a flash of white light, and a thud. When I came to, I was leaking and surrounded by people. They took me to the nurse, think they called the ambulance? I honestly can't remember. I also don't even remember how I got bashed in the head a second time on a completely different fucking day. The only reason I know it actually happened is cause I have two healed up gash wounds next to both the corner of my eyes. But yeah, just want to give yall, yall flowers for how far yall have come. The speakeezy is for sure my #1 podcast to always tune into for. For the last question, I don't really think there's anything I can think of know that yall can do to improve the podcast. You guys already have so many amazing side ideas such as neighborhood watch and the afterhours. I guess more guest special could be cool. Maybe for other patreon exclusives you could add a segment where yall check out world news. I know most people tend to come to the pod or to watch yall videos to escape from what's going on in the real world, which is understandable. However, I don't think it's healthy to completely ignore it, we have to be up to date on political topics so we are well informed. It's gotta be up to us to help the world and we can't help it, if we have zero clue what's going on. Something else I was thinking about was adding anime to neighborhood watch! I definitely think yall should pick a couple animes, maybe some that are already finished with a couple seasons and let us know what yall think! Just some thoughts.

I went to Mexico on a family vacation and decided to do more things off the resort (mistake 1). My sister and I decided to go to the beach for parasailing and we found someone on the beach who was offering the excursion for a cheap price (mistake 2). At first, we wanted to go as a pair, but for some reason we decided to do it individually (mistake 3) and I went first (mistake 4!) The people running the parasailing hooked me up and the boat started. I immediately was raised up and enjoyed sailing above the ocean…for 1 minute. Almost as soon as I was up there, the boat pulling me broke in the middle of the ocean ( it stopped moving, so I stopped moving!) I started to fall into the ocean (slowly thank goodness but still fast enough). When I hit the MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN, I tried to take off my parachute but the buckles were janky and got stuck! As I struggled to take off the security straps, the parachute started to sink and pull me into the water. I took a huge breath as I began to be dragged down into the deep ocean. After what seemed like forever (and I said my prayers cus I knew I was dead), they got a jetski to race over to me and pull me out of the water, cut me out of the parachute, and take me back to the shore (where my mom was going off) I was told it all took place in 3ish minutes, but it felt like I took forever! I don’t know if it was because it was Mexico or just parasailing in general, but I almost drowned / was eaten by sharks (at least I imagine they were waiting for me, smacking they lips) that day and I will never do it again And according to my students, Unc is a lifestyle not an age. You can be Unc indefinitely if you look the part, act the part and ultimately carry yourself like Unc.

Here’s my near death: I was with some friends white water rafting (I think it was a class 3 rapid) in Pennsylvania and I knew from the jump shit was sketchy because it seemed like the company had wayyy too many rafts out there on the water. But when we were first learning how to operate as a team and shit they were like “if you’re about bump another boat, lean TOWARD the boat, NOT AWAY”. I was like cool gotchu (🤦🏽♂️). So we’re having a good time navigating and making our way down this thing and and we get to a lil traffic jam. This other raft was stuck in between these rocks where underneath them were these rapids called washing machines where they have a really heavy circular pull into them. As we approached the two rocks we’re screaming at them like “YO YALL GOTTA MOVE” as they were blocking the way… Collision was imminent lol. So we all looked at each other like Ight, brace for impact. And we’re going fast man, like really fast. As we approached their raft at the very last second my body jolted backwards even though I was leaning forward initially. Upon collision, I popped over the edge of our raft into the water. The washing machine rapid scooped me underneath the raft instantly. I was tryna swim out but the combination of the rapid pulling me forward and my life vest pulling me up trapped me and I kept smashing into the bottom of our raft. It was terrifying. I ran out of air. Big gasp of water into my lungs and my eyes opened and adrenaline went crazy. Swam my ass off and I eventually popped out. A friend of mine pulled me out and back into the raft. I was coughing like crazy and then just sat there staring into the distance man. I might have been under for there about 10 seconds but it felt like a lifetime.

2024-05-30 22:22:22 +0000 UTCI’ve had way too many near death experiences: I’ve been stabbed in the head by a broken nail on a rake, almost drowned twice: first was at a hotel party (tried to get out of the pool the wrong way and hit my head), and the other was at a water park. I went too far in the wave pool when I was a kid and these two ladies pulled me up when I couldn’t get up. Also for the pod: the content has been phenomenal. Since yall have accepted “The Unc Status” I think yall should do more mini series like “Let Me Put You On Nephew/Niece” where yall give your best unasked for advice every episode or every other episode. Like random stuff yall do throughout your day that makes your day to day life better or your favorite cologne and the best time to wear it. Stuff like that

Thankfully I didn't go into the ditch, but because there was a car coming I had to quickly get back into the lane and drive as fast as I could. My adrenaline was running so damn high I had to stop in someone's driveway and relax. But that experience taught me that if I'm in a life or death situation I wont fold.

All was fine until the pool started filling up with people and giant ass pool floats. I was instantly being bobbed around and eventually started drowning/chocking on water. It was almost over until this man pulled me out and held me up like Simba from the Lion King. 😭

One car stopped for me and the other car was so far back that I knew I was gonna be fine… WRONG! In the middle of the cross walk i heard an engine rev up and before i knew it I was in the air my phone and glasses flying off me and all I see is blue sky. I hit a hill and roll down to the side walk. Thank God no broken bones just a lot of scrapes and bruises. I have one scar that will forever be on my wrist and i put a tattoo right by it. Thank God everyday for my life and now I laugh about it telling people i made the flower blue cause that is all I saw when i was flying in the air. Lol
