A tale written for Fossil in 2012, I'll always have a soft spot for Play List.
This is the story that introduces us to Carly - and we know where that leads!
I think it's the strength of this story that it opens up a whole new part of the Parkdale universe, as well as a sequel of sorts, Playdate (also a well received and well-reviewed tale).
Fossil provided the idea and commission that I was delighted to run with - once I had the researched the song lyrics that could take the characters back to a younger frame of mind, this is a story that came out in a rush.
The dressing-up is enjoyable chaos, the distinctly surreal conversation between Carly and the grown-ups downstairs, the car scene that starts as a genuine rescue and then turns into something different, and then one of the sweetest final twists in Parkdale's history...just a stand-out tale, and it also happens to be the most read story on sebtomato.com
