I think this is a worse experience than the original cut but the original cut definitely has its issues too and is a noticeable drop and quality. The issue with the re-edit is really that you’re getting a lot of storyline/joke set-up after it’s already payed off.

Each episode follows a single character all the way through their story lines, so in a sense it lets the jokes have a more immediate payoff. But like they said there was a reason they tried to do the remix, which failed imo. They just ended up adding so much recapping and voice over that especially in the earlier episodes just feel like they drag on. For what its worth I do think that season 5 is worse, so we got that to look forward to.

2026-01-29 00:25:04 +0000 UTCI watched the original cut when it first came out and the dip in quality from the first 3 seasons was noticeable. The original cut is SUCH a different format with each episode typically following a single character and their POV that it feels like a completely different show. Some episodes feel flat and are almost entirely setup for later episodes to actually have any payoff. There are some reveals that are better in the OG version (George Michael and Rebel dating is saved as a big surprise for much later in the season) but I don't think it'd be worth a whole rewatch just for that. To me the remix version is slightly better but I recognize it all comes down to individual preference. I really don't think one version is leaps and bounds better than the other, and both are similarly flawed. Also Season 5 is another half step down in quality. I think it's worth finishing just to see where it goes and there are enough gags in there worth seeing. But if you think the narrator recaps are bad now... it is not a redemption arc by any means.

2026-01-29 00:09:20 +0000 UTCI had a hard time finding the episodes too, even having heard it was in the trailers section. I never thought to look for the trailers section there. Huge fumble by netflix tbh. Hopefully season 5 is a bit more put together
