Have that unproposal scene, and then we cut away and Steve and Dustin break down the door at the same time later on and Nancy and Jonathan spill out through the hole dead, that would have been a perfect dagger to the heart and given us more stakes on making the right choices like Steve and Dustin were talking about these last 2 episodes.
