Silly, but cute, wholesome, lighthearted, that's what it is. I feel there's a big tonal shift from the pilot, which was darker and more serious. I wasn't sure if you would like that shift, not everyone did, but glad you enjoyed it. A lot of people also didn't understand, why the show needs 2 new additional maincast members. Well in first place it had to do with Fox, wanting some eye candy in the show with Jimmy and Yves, because the Gunmen weren't exactly that. 🙈 But hey, Jimmy and Yves are so much fun. The writers wanted Jimmy to be the exact contrast. The Gunmen were the nerdy brainiacs, Jimmy the good looking big guy with the muscles, not so smart but with a big heart. They went full on situation comedy with that contrast. I like the visuals of the intro and the music choice in general. Mark Snow (composer for The X Files, Millennium and The Lone Gunmen) chose a more rock n' rolish approach here, and makes a lot of use of the cartoony sounds we already know from funny X Files episodes. As a european, I always cringe a bit, that they just made up a fictional country (Bellemersk), but hey, I can deal with it. Also, being european, I'm wondering what "aggressively canadian" is. 😆 I could not tell, but yeah, most of these actors, including the Gunmen are canadian, casted in Vanvouver.
