This is my take on the situation in this episode. The deal Tony and Annalisa hash out is a success for him because at 75K he is getting about double what his baseline was. This is barely expressed in the show but his anchor price would have been 40-45 gs maybe a few thousand more at best per every hot vehicle shipped to them. He initially suggested 90 grand but that's all bullshit. The cartel bought those from the jackers all around North Jersey at about 35-40 most likely because they are stolen cars. You're not getting full value for anything like that, but you can get that fast decent money off a hustle in the black market. From there the mob ships them over to Napoli, back then in 1999 for far less than they could ever hope to do now, and then play the aim high game, basically embellish to their customer regarding the US street sales price, and hope the other party negotiates moderately and doesn't catch on and aim at their actual baseline, i.e. the number they actually paid or near it. End of the day, Tony got the better deal in this particular piece of business, gaining twice what he spent to sell/ship each of these cars, plus gaining Furio and eventually others from the family with no ties to America to come in and help out in their affairs in Jersey. All that said, there is some discussion about this episode being lesser than others overall throughout the season and series altogether. I like it personally but there seems to be some inconsistency in the way the story is told pertaining to the battle of wills between Ton and Annalisa

2025-08-26 16:57:13 +0000 UTCI really appreciate how in a show about a mob boss I get sometimes more interested in stories of the wives or the kids than actual mafia buissness. That's great writting, especially Carmela's story gets only more and more interesting.
