Sorry to say it, but this is officially the most overrated episode of TV ever made. It was so dumb. I can't even get on board with the cinematography.

I've seen this like 6 or 7 times but actually sitting and paying attention again made me cry lol. That's how good the last 20 minutes of the episode are.
The one take of Jon near the beginning of the battle and the scene of him drawing his sword as they're charging at him are two of the most incredible pieces of cinematography in his series. In addition to that tracking shot during Season 4 "The Watchers on the Wall" which was directed by Neil Marshall. Miguel Sapochnik directed this one and Hardhome and at least one upcoming episode no spoilers.
