Gus in this episode feels so much like how he was acting in Boxcutter, calm but not because he wants to be, and he is internally freaking the fuck out and knows he needs to keep is cool to portray how in control he wants people to perceive him as. The music that plays when Jimmy uses that bowling balls at the ends reminded me of the theme for a Final Fantasy villain.

But by the end he's amazing and compared to Walt he's a paladin. And I think the writers regret that stuff, cuz there's none of it in these 2 episodes lol. BB S1 Hank would have called Domingo [several bad words] immediately haha.

2025-02-18 23:08:42 +0000 UTConce again BCS uses the prequel format to add depth and context to BB. here we see Hank frustrated, poking around something he doesn't yet understand - but he can feel the absence of, Gus' meth empire - years before "Heisenberg's blue stuff" enters the scene. It's a touch revisionist but you can see why he was such an effective / liked figure in the DEA here much more than S1 of BB, like Arianna says he senses the DEA is getting played but puts on a good show anyway. Howard should be happy, he got 3 free bowling balls worth $75 🥰 "is Mike in mexico" girl no spoilers but they got that orange filter on the lens 🍊🍊🍊 The next 3 weeks of 2 eps are so good lol. if you know you know! actually the whole series through to the end really goes off. it's gonna be quite a ride!
