I’ve got a mix of good news and not-so-great news to share. As some of you may have noticed, the team’s been running a bit threadbare lately. Since we started this channel about three years ago, we’ve been grinding non-stop. It’s in our nature to push hard, but we’ve realized that the energy we bring to our reactions is just as important as the work we put in.
So, here’s the plan:
We’re taking a much-needed mental health break over the holidays for the next three weeks. We’ll resume recording during the week of January 13th.
What this means for you:
We won’t be recording new content during this time, so there won’t be any new watch-alongs until we’re back.
However, we’ll use this time to catch up on early access content (which will still go out here during the break). Our goal is to return with all the gaps between shows filled and a streamlined workflow that keeps things on track moving forward.
We’re also taking this time to reflect, recharge, and plan for 2025—plus give the crew a chance to fully enjoy the holidays with their loved ones.
Merry Christmas to all of you! If you choose to pause your support during this break, we completely understand, and we’ll look forward to seeing you again in three weeks, energized and ready to rock.
We love you all, and we can’t wait to bring you our best in the new year. Thanks for being the amazing community that you are.

2025-01-09 22:01:04 +0000 UTCOof at this point I honestly recommend you wait until Season 3 comes out in June, although I guess it depends how long it takes to get through 16 episodes by that time. Get the tissues ready either way.

2025-01-04 13:29:17 +0000 UTCOh, yes, for the watch along. I didn't want to reply because until I had time to check because I remember this being an issue with Shogun. Basically in Shogun there were two different sets of subtitles, the English subtitles for English speaking were in the typical black box at the bottom. However the English subtitles for Japanese were hardcoded in yellow on the screen itself, which was obscured by your copyright watermark. Which for some reason wasn't the case for me, there were no hardcoded subs and everything was being handled by the player. I actually had to torrent the show so I could control the subs in the media player, but then I had sync issues due to the frame rate and just gave up. I can't remember how Squid Game handled subtitles in the UK, but they can be very weird. If they're hardcoded (burned-in) then obviously there's no problem, but if the subtitles are handled by the player itself, then when you pop out the player you lose the subtitles, because it keeps them in the browser window you popped the player out of. Problem is every platform is different, even the same platform in different countries seem to do things differently. I just remembered thinking it would solve so many issues if that one little bit of your watermark wasn't there, so I could just follow the subs on your screen. It's a very common issue, it's probably the reason most anime reactors play Russian roulette with copyright just leaving everything uncensored.

2024-12-30 20:07:34 +0000 UTCLove Squid Game, think it will be an awesome reaction. I do however have one very practical concern. Can you maybe not obscure the subtitles? A lot of players when you pop them out to place over the reaction, leave the subtitles in the original window. This is an occasional annoyance of mine with Game of Thrones, but could render Squid Game unwatchable. I still haven't got around to watching Shogun because of this.

I pitched this elsewhere but imo you should take 2/3 week hiatus over christmas holidays and a hiatus in the summer, and you can announce them in advance in case it affects people financially or whatever. people would know it was coming up each year. the team could plan longer holiday getaways too cuz everyone would be off. food for thought! Have a great break! 💖
