Two of the top things I cannot stand seeing is taking advantage of/violence toward mentally disabled people and the elderly. Between this and BCS recently, I'm surprised my TV isn't in a million pieces right now.

2024-12-14 04:09:08 +0000 UTCThis might be a good time to remind/mention that the White Walkers are different from the wights/zombies/dead men. It can be kind of confusing in the show because they both have blue eyes and are obviously part of the same "team" or whatever. The White Walkers are alive, they are like a different species. But they are intelligent and intentional. The "wights", often just called dead men or "the army of the dead" in the show, are literally just reanimated (human) corpses magically controlled by the White Walkers. And as you saw with the horse, they can also reanimate and control other animals. But it wasn't a "White Walker horse", it was just a reanimated dead horse. There are far fewer White Walkers than there are wights and one of the important points that Jon and others often make, is that every human the White Walkers kill, they can just reanimate and make part of their army and thus grow their army. The dead men are hard to kill because they're controlled by magic and thus have no fear or instinct to protect or defend themselves, but they're not intelligent or particularly thoughtful fighters and are obviously still just human flesh. And as we already saw in the first season, they can be killed with fire. The White Walkers can be killed with obsidian or "dragon glass", as we saw Sam do, mostly because that one seemed to be taken by surprise. They are otherwise extremely good fighters and difficult to defeat, even if you have an obsidian weapon. And we also saw that their weird magical ice weapons can just destroy regular steel weapons. Whether fire works on White Walkers, or obsidian on dead men, is unclear at this point.
