Personally, I don't feel it is my responsibility to go to the GOT chat for updates. The chat, to me, is a secondary benefit of the subscription- the main reason is I want to watch the reactions (aka the Main feed). You have a schedule pinned to the top of the Main feed from Sept 8- which was a result of you changing (which you did without any warning then too) how you were going to release the reactions. All I, and it seems others are expressing is we were expecting specific content today and are surprised and very disappointed that it is not available to us; your paying members.(again, clearly not everyone goes to the chat). The key word here is expecting. So, if you are making a change to the schedule, as the service provider, you want to manage expectations, so your members are not surprised. So, in addition to posting on the chat (which not everyone may visit or visit often) you could also: post on the main feed, pin a post on last GOT episode & add an edit to the last GOT reaction vid informing us of the change for the following week. Not attacking you all, just disappointed. I enjoy the reactions, and I wanted to enjoy them today and I could not = bummed.

I don't know, i counted maybe 6 or 7 people that said yes when they asked if it was okay to post one of these and one normal episode today. Which, judging by the comments here, are the minority of people in the community. Most of us didn't want this. Even the girls said in the chat before they posted this that they thought the lore videos were boring, which then begs the question, why did they continue with them? That only alienates both sides of the community. Because now one side is disappointed at not getting any GoT videos, and the other side is disappointed that they didn't like the lore videos. What I'm disappointed with is the fact that they said they'd post one normal episode and one lore episode. I'm not interested in the lore episodes, but I was fine with just one this week. But then they decided to just do lore episodes anyway. It probably would've been better if they made an actual post with a poll or something.

Most of the complaints are that it took the time slot of two episodes, pushing the season back another week. If it was directly after each season people probably wouldn't of mind as much. I see they discussed this in the GoT chat but I'm sure a lot of those voicing complaints didn't know it was there.

Presenting it as an all or nothing scenario where you're either praising and glazing every move they make or your some perfectly fair and valid person kindly expressing disappointment is silly. Sure, there's people like Chris above who politely said these aren't the best videos or someone else who just recommended a different creator for lore, but there's also the standard reaction channel commenters whining and using childish antics to try and get their way. They kept repeating it through various accounts because it's suppose to represent each character's interpretation. For example, the initial account for the Night's Watch makes them appear as if they were valiant humanity's first line of defense whereas if in Tywin's perspective, the Night's Watch is just a band of thugs and prisoners protecting against fairytale make belief.

I like the lore videos, and unlike others complaining about no episode today, i do agree that I didn't expect you to dislike listening to what you already know, and complaining the entire time. I think people like the history and lore not only because its teaching you, but because its artfully made and narrated by the characters in the show. I've never seen someone complain about that though, so thats unfortunate.

I don’t think they really understood that the same story they heard was told from different perspectives and revealed contrasting and conflicting details and motivations. Sure you heard the what before but the why is the importance bits. For instance my favorite sacking of KL retelling is Tywins perspective because I never realized that the reason he ordered Elia raped by the Mountain was because Aerys had denied the Rhaegar/Cersei engagement and instead engaged Elia to Rhaegar, just because people were taking about Tywin being the real power. It’s not something you’d ever really know by just watching the show and it’s only in this retelling that it’s hinted at by his closing remarks. It makes Cersei’s paranoia about having the same fate inflicted upon her and Tommen by Stannis during episode 2x9 richer for me. There are little things like that sprinkled throughout the different pov of each character as they talk about the history as they see it. I only watched their first reaction to season 1 history and lore, not sure there is any use in watching the second as they went into it complaining and seemed primed to not enjoy them.

It is meant to catch new people up on the full lore of each season and explain the full story in more detail from the viewpoints of different characters. Just don't watch the damn thing then.
