Better Call Saul 2x9

Comments

I'm late to this reaction. But, i just realized the only recent pic of Jimmy that Chuck had to show was the newspaper cutout of Jimmy near the "HHM" billboard. That to me was just sad.

Correct reaction. I literally screamed out loud when Chuck hit his head. The sound effect was so visceral it was awful.

BIG episode. And we're still kinda just getting started!

Damien Lupo

oh yes, i forget which was involved in which sometimes, since that is what was said in this reaction. thanks for info.

I say this on every reaction series like a broken record, but Peter Gould is the showrunner for BCS. While Vince Gilligan is still heavily involved, his involvement starts to fall off and he mostly pops in to direct 1+ episodes a season (you can always tell, so good). But the show is carried by the crew, under Peter Gould + the writer's room's amazing words. I'm not saying this to undercut Vince's involvement but to highlight Peter and the rest's. Unbelievable crew, I would watch anything they made.

Insane episode, great reaction! When the payoffs start to pay off... no better feeling. This is why we needed the jimmy/kim mesa verde hhm etc stuff. When BCS cooks it COOKS, the crew are so dialled in. and its only season 2! i always end up commenting this so im sorry if anyone's seen this before but: Peter Gould is the showrunner for Better Call Saul. Vince is still very much involved, but it's Peter's ship and Peter's writers room. One of Vince's great strengths imo is that he gave people opportunities and let them thrive... lots of BCS directors were like, ADs on Breaking Bad, people who were junior on that show get promoted on BCS. He nurtures talent and that ABQ crew, led now by Peter Gould, is just crafting fire nonstop. I'm sad they stopped! I want moooore! Chuck is so funny to me because he has the cadence and dialog of a supervillain but actually he's just a semi-retired lawyer with mental health issues. the way actors on this show are able to capture villainy and sharp evilness and then pathetic sadness and softness, so good.

"thus far" doing a ton of heavy lifting here πŸ‘€πŸ‘€

Kara

Yeah, this episode was jam-packed.

Joe Blankenship

Vince just refined his art and got better and better with time. All the actors performed amazingly as well.

Joshua Luzania

I agree with everything you both said in your comments! this is one of the best episodes of the series, thus far!!!!

Twenty-something years ago in grade school I wore a batting glove when I played tetherball. I was one of the best in the school. Wearing a glove is not cheating, it's smart.
