I’m late to the party so I don’t know if you’ll see this, but I was wondering if you’d recognize Xaro Xhan Daxos as Sam’s dad from Ted Lasso

2024-11-15 08:43:38 +0000 UTCGeorge R.R. Martin has said that wildfire was inspired by Greek fire, a historical incendiary chemical weapon that was probably something like Napalm.

2024-10-10 02:36:10 +0000 UTCRe: Wildfire, I sort of think of it as medieval super petrol. It needs a flame to ignite it but concentrated in one place, it goes off like a bomb.

2024-10-07 17:05:26 +0000 UTCYea Jaquin is such an interesting character. I also love the dynamic between Tywin and Arya. At Winterfell, they said the mountain or sell swords bc they were just speculating who it could possibly be. 🤔 OK it's late. I'll watch the next one tomorrow.

2024-10-05 06:44:33 +0000 UTCEh, he's hardly history's greatest monster -- jesus in game of thrones he's not even the week's greatest monster -- but he's a standard egotist who would make a terrible king and I don't like how they translated him to the screen, where they soften him up for no good reason.

2024-10-04 00:40:35 +0000 UTCIn reference to Bran the Starks have no idea at this point that Theon has betrayed them. Since they are at war with the Lannisters when word comes that Torrens Square is under attack the natural assumption is it's the Lannisters. Sir Roderick was guessing how they could be doing it not stating facts.

2024-10-04 00:32:59 +0000 UTCI believe there is one scene slightly explaining it much later in the show... but it does kinda suck they don't do explain it earlier. At least they actually explain it better than why Alliser Thorne hates Jon so much.

2024-10-04 00:23:40 +0000 UTCyeah, exactly, you two are Reactors- this is the product you provide. I have seen GOT before...if I wanted to watch it again without commentary- I would, but that is not why I am here. The fun thing about watching reaction videos is it is a new way to experience familiar content. GOT is a great show to watch new viewers experience because the show is so rich with situations to react to. Are there moments that I feel bad because maybe you missed something, or when a moment/line reading that was special to me doesn't get the reaction from you two in the way I hoped, yeah of course, but that part of this journey. Watching you two experience GOT for the first time is the primary entertainment with the rewatching GOT episodes being secondary, for me at least. Keep up the fun, great work. (side note: I just love how you have been fully immersed into GOT from the beginning. I know there was a moment in the summer where the shows you were watching along with real-life were heavy weights on your shoulders and kind of bumming you out. I was afraid when you two decided to jump into GOT that it's density would be a slog for you. But instead, you two dived right into the crazy of it all and it has been a joy to see you two having fun and especially having fun with this show.)

2024-10-03 23:24:28 +0000 UTCPlease watch at least the history and lore for the first season. It’s really well done and it provides some much needed context

2024-10-03 22:55:35 +0000 UTCI think you both would benefit from watching History&Lore. It will answer many of your questions and give you a better perspective on the events that are happening right now and on worldbuilding overall.

2024-10-03 20:54:38 +0000 UTCThe relationship between Brienne of Tarth and Renly is one of Unrequited love. Its made much clearer in the novels, and what makes it even worse for Brienne is that Renly clearly doesn't play for the same team anyway.

2024-10-03 20:46:26 +0000 UTCThat’s funny you phrase it like that because I think Theon’s arc this season is emblematic of nuanced and complicated characters making interesting decisions.
Random Random
2024-10-03 18:50:46 +0000 UTCI know what you mean but I actually think Theon is one of the most interesting and complex characters of the whole series.
Christophe
2024-10-03 18:47:02 +0000 UTCYeah the Arya/Tywin scenes are probably the best change they made from the books. In the books, Arya just has some random servant jobs while Tywin is at Harrenhal, she never becomes his cupbearer.
Christophe
2024-10-03 18:30:12 +0000 UTCIt’s a tough balance, especially with the amount of exposition in the entire show. I’ll say this; you 2 have gathered a more detailed idea of the world than I did on my first time through. Also, I’ve watched reactors who say virtually nothing and it’s shocking how they even consider themselves “reactors”. I’ll take too much discussion over not enough discussion every time.

2024-10-03 17:50:41 +0000 UTCJoel, that is an obscure but excellent film. Impressive reference!!!

2024-10-03 17:34:36 +0000 UTCI'm not trying to throw shade at the way you do things. I like hearing your full reactions, hence why I've been subscribed to the patreon for a couple of months now. I'm just saying, there is merit to SOME of the complaints. Not the ones that are like "wahhh why are they reacting in this reaction channel?!". Those are dumb lol.

2024-10-03 17:33:29 +0000 UTCLove that y'all are paying attention to some of the little things like how anguished Brienne was over Renly's death. You're so invested. Don't worry if some stuff slips by. This is a very re-watchable series and you've got a whole fanbase to point things out (hopefully only) after they happen.

JD Sharpe
2024-10-03 17:12:52 +0000 UTCYeah I never really found it weird because I had read the books but I think the Brienne thing with Renly suffers a bit from the adaption. Brienne is only like 18 in the books (they aged up a lot of the characters) and much more socially awkward and shy so her like school girl crush on Renly makes more sense. Renly is also much more of a charming fuckboy in the books. Also, the actor who plays Wisdom Hallyne, the old pyromancer, is the late Roy Dotrice who narrated all of the A Song of Ice and Fire audiobooks. For that, he received a Guinness World Record for most characters voiced by a single person. He was originally cast as Grand Maester Pycelle but health reasons later forced him to withdraw from the role. But it's so cool they still made it possible for him to have this small cameo.
Christophe
2024-10-03 16:49:40 +0000 UTCThe commentary in this one was next level! From "his hair is kind of slay" to the queef demon, all around great job! I like that y'all are enjoying the Arya plotline so much and noting the effect the people around her have on her own growth. Even an enemy like Tywin has something to offer.
Vasili Brasinikas
2024-10-03 16:40:24 +0000 UTCYou describing Theon this season as "cringe" is so accurate. The world is full of all these complicated, nuanced characters making interesting decisions--and then there's Theon. It feels weird in the vibe of the show, doesn't it?

2024-10-03 16:25:08 +0000 UTCLittle Fact, The Actress who Plays Cersei and the Actor who Plays Bronn were married in IRL. They ended up hating each other so you will never see them on the same set with each other at the same time.

2024-10-03 16:13:38 +0000 UTCHey Dylan, Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I get where you’re coming from, but I also want to address a few things. When we’re watching something for the first time, it’s pretty tough to know what dialogue is going to be important and what isn’t. We’re experiencing the show blind, just like everyone else who watched it for the first time. That’s part of the fun—discovering it all in real-time. We always have captions on, and we’re wearing noise-canceling headphones, so even when we’re talking or taking notes, we’re still tuned in to what’s happening. It’s all part of our multi-tasking flow, and it’s not unusual for us to go back and re-watch a scene if we feel like we missed something. Also, for anyone who prefers less commentary, the $10 Early Access tier or even just waiting for the edited YouTube versions might be a better fit! The edited versions are streamlined, cutting out parts of dialogue and extra thoughts, and designed to offer a more digestible experience without sacrificing context. At the end of the day, this is our channel and we aim to create content in a style that we enjoy and are proud of. Whether we’re talking a lot or a little, it’s ultimately up to us to decide what works for our channel and community. But I do appreciate your feedback and hope you continue to enjoy the content in a way that suits you best! —Maple

2024-10-03 16:08:17 +0000 UTCI do think its kinda dumb that people complain that you talk too much, BUT I do see their point kinda. You do sometimes talk over important parts, and then later get confused as to what's happening. Also, you do sometimes almost miss stuff when you take notes on your whiteboard. Game of Thrones isn't really any more complicated than anything else you watch. I think you'd take more in if you watched it instead of taking notes.
