THAT'S THE ONE I can't wait for! (for me, there are many great reacts to 'TL' (funnylilgal being the best of all) as well as many multiple [too many, frankly] varyingly good reacts for the other series being reacted to here... ...but way... way... way... to few reacts have been done to 'MR')

2024-09-10 10:23:29 +0000 UTCI’m doing GoT, BCS and HH, so really wasn’t sure which to pick so went with the one that was “most Diegesisy”. I’m all about the Anti-hero TV boom of the 00s, but I just can’t do Peaky; characters just feel stale to me - Boardwalk Empire used the period better IMO. Lasso is funny and all but crosses the line into cheese once too often so gave up around S2.

2024-09-10 08:59:37 +0000 UTCI don't know what it is about Peaky Blinders but I just have a really hard time getting past like mid-season 3. I've tried twice now, once when I just went through the series on my own and now with you. I just think it gets boring and repetitive. The characters are done evolving, the plots are somehow simultaneously too dense and too uninteresting, and it just feels like there are never any real stakes for the main characters. Even when John is killed, it feels obvious that it's not like an inevitability of the plot or a mistake by the character, they were just done with him or Joe Cole wanted to move on or whatever. I think 4x2 or 4x3 is when I originally stopped watching, not even as a concious choice but just because I noticed that I was still forcing myself to continue watching that late into the series and I was basically never in the mood to watch another episode and it was always a slog to get through. Anyway, I'm still here for Better Call Saul, Ted Lasso and Game of Thrones (begrudgingly).
