I pretty much saw this show when it came out and it feels like I'm watching it for the first time again with you guys, I hardly remember a thing! I do remember a few things though ;D can't wait to see more reactions. Also I love Theo so much

I don’t know if we ever really get another example of Luke’s “sense” beyond that one moment in the sick room, so it could be that it’s only the girls (and the mom only mentions Nell and Shirley when she’s talking to Theo). Alternatively, I would argue Steve’s age may play a factor. It’s generally a rule in these kinds of things that the younger you are, the more sensitive you are to the “unseen” world (Flanagan is heavily influenced by King, who uses that as a rule of thumb).

2024-09-09 23:16:07 +0000 UTCThe technical term for Theo’s ability is “psychometry”. Her character in the book was a medium with the same skills. Fun bit of trivia: Jeff Goldblum played a “psychometrist” opposite Cyndi Lauper in the 1988 movie “Vibes”.

2024-09-09 22:55:31 +0000 UTCIt's interesting how all the kids are "sensitive" but in different ways. Theo obviously has the touch. Shirlie has her dreams. Nelly has sound and Luke has smell. The only one who doesn't appear to have this sensitivity is Steve. Or he does and doesn't realize it.
