2024-09-02 23:33:47 +0000 UTCAs much as I love this season, the whole Jason (subplot c) storyline was just kind of pointless. They could have done so much better with it in the end, since the town will need as many people as they can to fight against the evil in the end. After Lucas knocked him out, they could have had him come to his senses after the crazy shit happened, his skill with a gun could have been a boon for the good guys. But no, someone in the writers room just had to have him and the jocks be bad guys, then kill him off instead of redeeming/using him in a good way. But in the end it was really just kinda dumb and didn't amount to anything.

2024-08-07 16:45:54 +0000 UTCMan I've seen this episode so many times now and Lucas still breaks me with the improvised "Erica help" line. That followed by his desperate & helpless wail completely gutted me. As a slight side note, I really loved how much they incorporated Erica this season. The bickering brother/sister dynamic is fun, but anyone who has experienced that in real life with their own sibling can appreciate the extra range and layers that were written in this time around. Looking forward to seeing how they expand on that in season 5. Hopefully they do some of the same with Mike and Nancy. I expected that after the "no more secrets" line way back in season one, but the plot has often kept them separated ever since then.

Fun fact I haven't seen mentioned, the kiss between Hopper and Joyce in the prison was unscripted. It was done in the moment, naturally and unplanned even between the actors. Hope y'all get another feel good show for a while, you deserve a break from the stress!

If this season finale is an emotional rollercoaster, it's the rollercoaster from Final Destination 3 (if you know, you know)!! 😂 Completely agree with you both on the love triangle. I really could've done without it, but I'm sure it's setting up a major storyline for ST5, so I'll give the Duffers the benefit of the doubt lol.
