It hammers home how he simply refused to experience life for himself, but rather conspired to accrue greater power in pursuit of "knowledge". Ed and everyone else's by comparison, has ornate designs, representing each of their unique experiences. Also, Ed and Al were in a unique position to make their happy ending work. Them connecting their souls gave Ed the ability to leave Truth with Al; otherwise he'd have been trapped. Anyhow, I can't believe we're at the end of the journey!! I swear, every channel I watch, the episodes just fly by until somehow we're at the end. It's been a treat, and great costumes, truly!
