Watching this season with you guys in real time so it makes me wonder if Carmy will eventually get distracted in this three-month sprint to open.

2024-02-06 16:39:02 +0000 UTCmy friend was an EM resident. things were insane to start but the last six months were much more chill. the EM shifts are looong but they have long gaps in between, he got 10+ days off a month those winter months. we'd spend entire random days binging TV in his apartment, it was like being in college again lol

2024-02-05 03:53:00 +0000 UTCI'm surprised you didn't catch that he gave her the wrong number at the end - earlier when he was leaving a voicemail for the fridge guy, he left his phone number, which ended in "0901". When he gave Claire his phone number, the number he gave her ended in "0902". And if you notice, he hesitated for a second before he said "2" at the end, like he was feeling conflicted about whether he should give her the right number or not. Medical residents actually are physicians (they have completed their medical education and received their MD or DO), but they're still in clinical training under the supervision of an attending physician, and haven't received their board certification yet, which will allow them to practice medicine independently. They will frequently work 80 hours per week, and will occasionally have to work 24+ hour shifts. From a practical standpoint, neither Carmy nor Claire really have time for this. A little more than halfway through this season, you are in for two of the best episodes of television you will ever see - they run back-to-back, and they complement each other perfectly. As crazy as it sounds, the second season actually tops the first season (and the first season was fantastic). Also, prepare to cry a lot.
