This show is winning all the awards right now, and for good reason! Its amazingly bingeable. Such an easy watch

I'm glad you both caught on to Richie's deal. He's a complete asshole but he lost his best friend, and someone he saw probably almost every single day of the week for literally years. Every day he was in the chaos of that kitchen with Mikey and the others, barely holding shit together, barely survived COVID, then had to watch Mikey descend into addiction and eventually kill himself. Carmy was off in NYC and Copenhagen. Sugar was around but had her own stuff going on (good for her!). Only Richie was there every day and now he's still there and maybe realising that, things can be better... maybe things could have been better the entire time. And where does he even fit into that? As chaotic as they were, things made more sense with Mikey, or at the very least he had a 'brother' in it with him. Now he has nobody 😔 I love how with a single scene they sell you on Mikey being a charismatic guy that everyone loved being around. Casting John Bernthal was genius too.

As I got up today to watch this episode, its -9, with a wind chill of -30 here in my hometown of Chicago, and I thank God I can work from home!!!! I will definitely NOT be going out to the Original Beef for a sandwich today !!!! :( Cheers and stay warm!

Richie is having a really hard time with change. He's grieving on top of feeling like he's being left behind as well as inadequate as a man, a friend, a partner and even as a father. There's a lot going on with him that's more than just he's a dickhead with a bad attitude. He wants to be a apart of things and have some semblance of responsibility, but at the same time I think he knows he isn't capable and a lot of that is because he is a fuck up who has a hard time adapting as well as letting go of the past. He isn't my favorite by any means but I think its pretty clear that he's going through his own shit with all of this plus things outside of the restaurant stuff. Edit: Ya'll addressed all of this at the end of the video lol ignore me!
