Yes, this was really well directed, which I hadn't necessarily paid attention to before; the pacing was effective, the shots were inventive while fully justified in adding to the script, the reincorporations weren't heavy-handed, the lighting was okay but the blocking within the lighting was really well done... plus a delayed "oh my gosh/how did I not give kudos to this previously!" = the "hair casting" of the angel and demon grunts in their comparable Fed Threads! π₯ Noice Sam/Dean parallels. Well done, Show.

"Also, I'm not sure him returning to that family would help them. It would probably just cause them more pain. Sometimes in life apologizing isn't the right thing because it...would do more harm then good." π <--This is such a thoughtful point (among other really good ones you've made).

Lmao love how you're always trying to make an ally out of Roweena because she's so fun... but she's also literally the worst. She's why Crowley is the way he is and if you can't trust him, you really can't trust her. I mean, she even hates Crowley who's biggest crime is being a mommy's boy who never grew out of adolescence lol and man, Crowley... treat your damn demons better. Even though they'll betray you anyway, probably. In the words of the great Bobby Singer: "You know what the problem with demons is? That they're demons."

I'm not sure it's actually in character for Dean to go apologize to that family. It seems to me quite the opposite of Dean's usual philosophy of just continuing to move forward and dealing with what's in front of him. Of course, he will allow his past to torture him, and be miserable because of it. But I can't see him actually taking steps to go back and try to rectify the pain he has caused...unless the past finds him like with Cole. He will just bury all the guilt, shame, and pain and attempt to keep moving forward. He thinks he deserves to be unhappy. That misery is just a part of the life he has chosen.
Also, I'm not sure him returning to that family would help them. It would probably just cause them more pain. Sometimes in life apologizing isn't the right thing because it's really only serving you. I think it's good to recognize when approaching someone who you've hurt would do more harm then good.
I really love that Cas doesn't try to argue with Dean about healing him. It shows how much he knows him. How much Dean needs to feel physical pain in that moment even if it's not the thing the people who love him want for him.

I love Rowena sitting in the back seat of the Impala trying to start trouble with the boys. She is a queen

Every time that Jensen directs, the result is amazing. I love this episode and especially Crowley starting to realise that Amara may be difficult to manipulate.

I love this episode, Jensen did a great job directing this one, i love the boys helping cas, great deancas moments π, Rowena owns me, i love that she's the only one who calls Sam Samuel, i love her, i love the call backs to 8x17 with dean yet again was able to reach cas through mind control & gets beaten up in the process π And all cas wants is to heal dean but dean feels so guilty for beating cas up last season that he refused to have cas take away the pain which in turn hurts cas even more π

I will just say that young Amara eating souls is not my cup of tea. Favorite oart of this episode is definitely Rowena. Ruth Connell is just amazing at playing a villain you cannot help but love to see on your screen. Sheβs magic π BTW that red dress in her mega coven speech is her favorite dress she wore on the show.
Yes, it was interesting to see Dean not permitting Cas to heal him at the end. He needed to do some penance/feel like he got the consequences for what he did.

Season 11 so far has given three episodes about taking care of children and also Parenthood.
Crowley interaction with Amara is very much a fatherly dynamic but her actions give us a idea of why God would lock her away. She threatens souls. Even Angels and demons agree that she is very dangerous to have around.
Everytime something threatens humanity God solution was lock them away somewhere forever.
Lucifer, Eve, Leviathans. Even the tablets were instructions on how to lock demons and angels away if they got out of hand.
Him trying to protect humanity has a nasty side effect of making things worse when those things eventually get out.
Being a overbearing father doesn't seem to help.
